What's the deal with Patrick Crayton?

Recommended Posts

Every story that I read or hear about lately involving the Cowboys' Wide Receivers pretty much ignores the existence of Patrick Crayton. They talk about TO and they talk about Terry Glenn's injuries, but then they skip over any mention of Crayton and start speculating on trades for Roy Williams or Pacman playing both ways.

I thought that Crayton was becoming a pretty integral part of that offense. Am I mistaken about that? Is he not good enough to carry the load opposite TO? What's his deal?

Crayton looks like he's a solid #3 WR, but I don't know if he's capable of being a legit threat as a #2 WR. He has shown flashes of brilliance, but then he disappears.

I've also heard, and I don't know how accurate it is, but it is from reports out of DAL, that they really like the athleticism and progress of Stanback and expect him to develop into a starter within the next year or so.

This is exactlly correct.

Stanback was a QB in college and had to overcome injury (ankle i believe) so his development as a WR has been hindered. He has shown the coaches some big play ability and they are excited about the chances of him being a major contributor on offense and special teams. I'm excited to see him play this year.

If the cowboys lose glenn, crayton may move up the ladder. He has some speed, but I totally agree he hasn't proven he can be consistent.

If you want him for your team, you only need to ask.

I was big on him last year . He was decent. Nothing special. I absolutley hate the way he carries the ball after a catch. He is a fumble waiting to happen

So Stanback has a shot at the big time?

I was mystified by that pick when it happened.
