Tucker Adds to SD Pass Rush

Chargers OLB Jyles Tucker ended last season on a tear, and the Bolts are expecting him to play a significant role in the defense in ’08. An undrafted rookie a season ago, Tucker didn’t even appear in a game until Week 12, but by the season’s end, he was a regular in the OLB rotation. His coming-out party was Week 17, when he notched three sacks against the Raiders. At 6-3, 258 pounds, he has the natural athleticism to be a menace getting into the offensive backfield on passing downs, and San Diego is willing to accept the fact that as of now, he’s a bit of a one-trick pony - his lone trick being pressuring the quarterback.

Good News Bad News for Javon

PFW hears Raiders WR Javon Walker showed up at OTAs out of shape, which frustrated team officials, who expected more from him after he received a six-year, $55 million contract in March. Walker is slotted as Oakland’s No. 1 receiver and was signed to provide QB JaMarcus Russell with a proven go-to guy as the second-year quarterback embarks on his first year as the full-time starter. The news on Walker wasn’t completely negative, though - he was able to make sharp cuts on slant routes and didn’t appear to be slowed by the multiple knee injuries that have dogged him in the past.

Croyle's Job Safe

With no viable long-term prospect behind QB Brodie Croyle on the depth chart, PFW hears that Kansas City will afford him time to grow in the offense, and is bound to give him his share of mulligans should he need to take them.

Walker's a hard worker. It's May he'll lose the weight. His knee is the issue. If he can stay on the field with their RB's Russell could have a decent season.

Instant Replay!!!

Edit to add the opinion from where I got my update:

Walker was horrible last year - eight games played, 287 yards, and zero TDs. Walker will turn 30 during the season, so he does have time to resurrect his career. Be careful though, as it might not happen this season.

No it may not. He was hurt last year. Badly hurt.

There were rumors last year he would need micro fracture surgery. He is very risky but I have him in a dynasty. Not planning on drafting him.

Once again his weight isn't the issue. The Raiders were disappointed he was out of shape but his knee is the issue.

Hit the nail on the head Chappy, Walker has not been right since he first got hurt in Green Bay. I really can't see him having a decent season, especially in Oakland.

That's not true. The first 2 games last year he averaged 8.5 catches and 110 yards per game.

You're probably right. I'll keep defending Walker because I think he got a raw deal on a couple of counts. He was dumb in how he handled the GB problem but then did the right thing and blew out his knee in the first game. Then Darrent Williams died in his arms pretty much in Denver.

He's a good kid and a hard worker. He was overpaid to the max by the Raiders but until his knee goes out again I'll keep defending him.

Or until he shows on the field that he wasn't worth the money cause he's not what he used to be or because his knee (even though he doesn't re-injury it) continues to nag him so much so that he can't consistently produce. However, as I've stated before, I hope he can come back strong and be a stud as that would provide for another solid WR to draft and possibly at a terrific value.

I won't be drafting him because he's too much of an injury risk. I didn't say anything about his character, i just don't like him as a fantasy prospect because of his knee issues, as you stated. I guess i must have upset you by postig a response because i'm "new" to the board. :D
