policyvote
I can vouch for the Merlin's Ale, brewed in the reputed birthplace of the sorcerer himself. Good stuff. . . . Uh pretty much that's the only one on that entire list I've had. Peace policy

untateve
Ommegang is a great brewery. They also put out Three Philosophers.
loaf
wasn't a hugh fan of the immort though my buddy was. Southern Tier put out a stout called creme brulee you can imagine what that tasted like. brewed with vanilla beans. I bought two bottles. my friend who puts on the show said that this was a very limited release and snuck a bottle up the registers for me as he didn't want folks to see two of them in my cart. I spent $

Atlanta Cracker
What did you think of Immort Ale? I love that one by Dogfish. I recently got a 4-pack of this to try out after seeing the efforts to which you have gone to procure some. I've kind of gotten off the stronger Belgian bandwagon in favor of slightly less strong IPAs lately. I was very pleasantly suprised with the Immort Ale and really enjoyed it. It was almost like a super strong IPA with lots of hops! . Is this a limited release or something they will be doing more of? Maybe I need to nab some before it's gone. If your trip through the Carolinas takes you back via Atlanta I can give you directions to the Beer store we hit when you were here for Eggtoberfest. They aren't far off the interstate and have Immort in stock!

If your trip through the Carolinas takes you back via Atlanta I can give you directions to the Beer store we hit when you were here for Eggtoberfest. They aren't far off the interstate and have Immort in stock! Immort is a seasonal brew that typically comes out in april or may. It is also not widely distributed. For example, I called the only distributor that gets dogfish near where I live and he did not get any in this year--which meant no Immort Ale near me. I've got 4 in my refrigerator and detlef has about 23 more waiting for me in durham. I'm not sure I'll be able to get to Atlanta. I recommend you buy them and save them. I drink mine only during special meals.
proninja
i liked it...very interesting bier.. i tend to like belgian wits. this has a lot of those characteristics...plus i believe it's held in oak barrels. nice elements. It is. Pinot Noir barrels. The beer is fermented in a little bit of pinot juice, and then 18% (I believe, could be wrong on this) is aged in pinot barrels and the rest on oak staves. I like it a lot. It's a great mix of complex but totally drinkable, especially for a 10% brew.
