Sardines

So, I'm not gonna lie. . .I like sardines. You know, the litte square-ish tin in the tuna aisle. They come in lots of strange sauces (mustard, hot sauce, oil, cajun). I like to just take them out of the tin whole, put 'em on some bread and enjoy a sardine sandwich.

Anybody with me? And does anyone have any other creative ways of serving them?

My wife and I like to play a little game called What Size is my Fish? Those King Oscar and other Norwegian sardines seem to be a standard size until you start getting sardines from asian markets when it's only the picture on the can that lets you know what's in there. They can come packed anywhere from 2 to 32 to a can. So we like to guess what size they are before we open the can. And some of the sauce they come packed in make you ask just what the frak are they thinking? For instance, the Germans have them in a paprika sauce.

Yes, sardines, cheese and crackers along with a bottle of wine is dinner every couple of weeks for us.

I think I've mentioned this before but Ms Cid thinks that guys that like anchovies also like to eat other fishy things.
