RB Holdouts = Injury Prone?

I was wondering if anybody had any statistics on the likelyhood of a RB having a significant injury during the regular season as it relates to lengthly pre-season holdouts. It just seems like everytime a RB holds out for most or all of pre-season that RB ends up missing significant portions of the regular season with a injury. I know that injuries can not be directly linked but I was just wondering what numbers say.

This used to be brought up every now and again as a pretty big problem. I would think that since most players (especially RB's) stay in shape now during the offseason, the likelihood of this still being an issue has got to be lessened. If he gets a few weeks of hitting done before he plays, I don't think it would raise the chances of injury significantly.

Stephan Jackson just adding to the statistics here.....another RB holdout during training camp that ends up with a significant injury during the season. This is definatley a trend, according to the numbers...but the cause / effect goes unproven still.

SJax didn't holdout last year and missed 4 full games and most of another. Although he didn't participate much in the 2007 preseason so that makes it kind of like a holdout. Some guys are just injury prone... holdout or no holdout. SJax is definitely one of them.
