I havent thought much about football yet this summer... busy coaching my kids baseball teams, a trip to Disney, and just got back from the UP for some fishing... For some reason I decided to renew the ole Huddle membership today.. and then happened upon this thread just in time to catch HARD KNOCKS.... great show ! I am now officially in full football mode.. the switch has been flipped. ZZZZTTTT and I see there are preseason games in the que. LETS GET IT ON ! But the inside war room for their first draft pick came off as completely odd.. They knew it would come down to Medenhall and Jones....Jason Garret kind of talks how Jones is a complimentary back, but Medenhall is an outright stud, Felix would probably be a good mix with Barber,,,,etc,,etc,,,,, then Jerry Jones pulls the trigger and seemingly overrides the educated decision by picking Jones....it was quick, obviously edited, but odd; it didn't' seem to have any more planning than I do with my first pick in the WCOFF draft. Garret came off as a true professional. Wade Phillips and Dave Campo have the natural leaderiship of Rodney Dangerfield, it's not hard to see how they lead teams to mediocrity and/or failure. As I was watching I couldn't help but think that Wade was nothing special of a head coach, and that Garrett showed him up as a leader the whole episode...
