Cothchery upgraded...

Favre should make Cotchery and Coles look very appealing to fantasy owners...will Cotchery still be cheaper than Coles and outperform Coles? How high will Favre move Coles and Cothchery up the draft board. Will Thomas Jones be better than a 3rd RB?

Cotchery will outperform Coles, but Coles will still go first in the majority of leagues due simply to name recognition. I take that back, there is a new QB, so we really have no idea who will be the preferred receiver, since their talent seems to be somewhat equal. But to answer the question, yes, Coles will still go earlier.

Do you see the combo of Coles/Cotchery being better than Driver/Jennings?

Maybe. I see them being pretty even right now but GB will throw to more players(receivers/TE's/RB's). I like Keller too. Favre could fall in love with that guy.

I like Cotchery better than Coles right now. He's got more of an all-around game than Coles. Had Penny gotten the starting gig, Coles would have been more valuable. Otherwise, Cotchery is the better investment.

Cotchery has already been out-performing Coles as it was.

THat's how I had it.

I may nudge them up a couple spots but not considerably.

It may help T Jones as well but I'm hesitant to draft him as a #2.

I was on the fence about Cotchery as a keeper, but I think I will probably keep him now. He will be priced for me on the lower end of 2nd WRs/higher end of 3rd WRs which I think is fair, not a super bargain. J Cotch has proved more durable at this point than Coles and the numbers from last season I believe reflect more that Cotch played more games and snaps because Coles had some injury issues. Cotchery isnt any more of a field stretcher than Coles but Coles had more TD catches (most short range). Keller is a rookie and will have some flashes this year (like Greg Olson last year I would think). but not enough to merit drafting as more than a late round flier.

And Favre is on the cover of Madden, so everyone should temper their expectations.

I will be ordering my Favre Jets jersey though. Cant wait.

I think Jones benefits most. Defenses won't be able to stack 8 and 9 the box with Favre behind center. You just hope Favre doesn't turn the ball over like he did in '05.

good info here....plus Favre likes dumping the ball off to RB's....especially if they know how to catch the ball...

The funny thing is that desipte Jones' 82.35% reception ratio last year, the Jets only threw to him 34 times (39th "most" of all RBs); same as guys like Musa Smith and Lamont Jordan, neither of whom were nearly as involved in their teams' offensive schemes. We'll see if Favre changes that, which would obviously have an impact in PPR leagues.

I personally bump up Cotchery and Jones.....but Coles has been hurt too easily in his career to move up as much as the other two...

Jones might even linger around my top 10 RB's because I dislike Lynch so much...but it's still too early to say...

VOICE OF REASON:

Brett Favre is old. And going to a new offense. And throwing to Coles and Crotchersuyiosdnny. And they are the Jets.

Coles and Crotcheueuyaiuwry were down on my list already, and should have been down on everyone else's too. An old QB in a new offense ain't gonna miraculously catapult them up my list. Heck, I'd downgrade them for the first 6 weeks of the season, because that's how long it will take Favre to figure out the offense.

Favre is old and will take some time to learn the offense, but he still will make big plays....and Cotchery isn't houshmandzadeh  but he'll still be far more productive with Favre not knowing the offense rather than Pennington who knew the offense....

so he moves up...and that's for the 1st 6 weeks, let alone the rest of the season when Favre actually has a rapport built with the wideouts...

Bubba Franks was translating the terminology for him last night. He said the plays aren't that different. In Green Bay he knew pretty much where all the players were, but here it will take a little time.

The defense won't be able to stack the box. Favre will go deep. :D

I actually was going to bring this up......Franks can help both sides of the fence here...

he can help translate the offense to Favre...plus he can help the wideouts in what Favre tends to look for...

I heard Clowney's been getting picked up late n leagues after last night. He was with GB last year but didn't do much. I think he was hurt.

I like Bubba as a blocker and Keller as a receiving TE and of course Cotchery going deep.

The Jets have made ALOT of improvements in the offseason so its not fair to say they ar ethe Jets. They spent alot of money so I dont think your argument is valid there.

The additions of Faneca and Woody, not to mention a young Ferguson projected to be a franchise player, will also help Jones tremendously.

Absolutely, Jones is the biggest winner here. They apparently made some efforts to improve the running game and having a QB that teams need to worry about throwing the ball more than 20 yards downfield won't hurt one bit. I think Jones was rated too low to begin with considering how stacked the O-line is.

Ive been seeing this misconception posted in various threads around the net. Up until 07 Coles has been an ironman. Yes he got banged up last year, but the durability issues people seem to be tagging Coles with are ridiculous
