cliaz
***DISCLAIMER - This rankings are in no way a reflection of the Huddle’s pay side of the site. These are my own projects that I work on during preseason to couple with the paid advice from the staff at huddle for my local drafts. Take ‘em or leave ‘em, I figured I would post them as I complete them. END OF LINE*** QBS - Tier I - Tony Romo - 4230 yards passing, 36 Tds 14 Ints, 80 yards rushing and 2 Tds Tom Brady - 3800 yards passing, 32 Tds 11 Ints, 75 yards rushing and 1 Td Drew Brees - 4450 yards passing, 30 Tds 13 Ints, 45 yards rushing Peyton Manning - 4120 yards passing, 30 Tds 9 Ints, 50 yards rushing and 2 Tds Notes: I think this is the year that Dallas and the Saints explode on offense and meet each other in the playoffs to fight over the right represent the NFC in Tampa. Both Romo and Brees will have fantastic years. I think if Brees can cut back on his Ints and Colston, Henderson, and Bush step it up, Brees may take the #1 QB slot. Look for New England to flip and head back to a more rushing team. Brady will still put up great numbers but all of us know 50 Tds is not coming around again. Tier II - Matt Hasselbeck - 3600 yards passing, 28 Tds 10 ints, 130 yards rushing 2 Tds Carson Palmer - 4100 yards passing, 25 Tds 17 ints, 25 yards rushing Derek Anderson - 3675 yards passing, 26 tds 13 ints, 45 yards rushing 2 tds Jake Delhomme - 3625 yards passing, 24 Tds 11 ints, 20 yards rushing 2 tds Brett Favre - 3600 yards, 23 tds 17 ints, 35 yards rushing David Garrard - 3375 yards passing, 23 Tds 9 ints, 275 yards rushing 3 Tds Ben Roethlisberger - 3300 yards passing, 24 tds 13 ints, 110 yards rushing 2 tds Donovan McNabb - 3250 yards passing, 22 tds 11 ints, 185 yards rushing 2 tds Notes: The passing TD totals are only separated here by 6 Tds. If your league follows a some what standard 1 pt per 25 yards passing 4 pt Td form and 1 pt per 10 yards rushing/6 pt rushing Tds, obviously adjust these ranks to favor the Qbs with rushing TDs. I am high on Hasselbeck this year and think Seattle will pass their way into the post season. I am also very high on David Garrard. Granted, Garrard does not have a clear WR pool but he has great vision and can spread the ball around. I see the Jags really taking that next step if Garrard can stay healthy. Tier III - Marc Bulger - 3275 passing yards, 24 tds 16 ints, 20 yards rushing Eli Manning - 3100 passing yards, 23 tds 14 ints, 65 yards rushing 1 td Jay Cutler - 3350 passing yards, 20 Tds 16 ints, 25 yards rushing Jon Kitna - 3300 passing yards, 22 tds 18 ints, 55 yards rushing 1 td Philip River -3300 passing yards, 20 tds 13 ints, 35 rushing yards Jason Campbell 3400 passing yards, 18 tds 10 ints, 100 yards rushing 1 td Matt Schaub - 3200 passing yards, 19 Tds 13 Ints, 45 yards rushing Matt Leinhart - 3050 passing yards, 19 tds 10 ints, 85 yards 1 rushing td Notes: These are what I call “the backup/bye week fillers. Unless you have a pretty strong team in the WR/RB arena, I don’t think any of these Qbs will take you deep into your playoffs. Might get luck with Bulger,Kitna, or Rivers and they might play above what is expected of them, however, Bulger and Kitna scare me a bit. Tier IV - Vince Young - 2975 yards passing, 18 tds 16 ints, 340 yards rushing 4 tds JaMarcus Russell - 2950 yards passing, 20 tds 22 ints, 110 yards rushing 2 tds Aaron Rogers - 3150 yards passing, 20 tds 17 ints, 100 yards rushing 1 td Jeff Garcia - 3000 yards passing, 18 tds 13 ints, 125 yards rushing 1td Tarvis Jackson - 2600 yards passing, 15 tds 14 ints, 175 yards rushing 3 tds Trent Edwards - 2675 yards passing, 17 tds 13 ints, 75 yards rushing Alex Smith - 2250 yards passing, 14 tds 16 ints, 55 yards rushing Rex Grossman - 2100 yards passing, 14 tds 11 ints, 40 yards rushing Chad Pennington - 2300 yards passing 13 tds 13 ints, 25 yards rushing Kyle Boller - 1700 yards passing, 10 tds 8 ints, 90 yards rushing Matt Ryan - 1535 yards passing, 10 tds 8 ints, 25 yards rushing 1 td Joe Flacco - 1250 yards passing, 8 tds 7 ints, 30 yards rushing Kyle Orton - 1300 yards passing, 7 tds 9 ints, 15 yards rushing Chris Redman - 1100 yards passing, 8 tds 7 ints, 15 yards rushing Edited August 16, 2008 by cliaz

Square
Schaub is only slightly higher than Leinart.... I guess (assuming Schaub can stay healthy) I don't see why he couldn't put up bigger numbers. I do agree with a good portion of the list though. I guess I'm just higher on Schaub. Avernus
mcnabb and roethlisberger should be ahead of favre, garrard and delhomme... a lot of people like delhomme, I think he'll be a bust.....but I like your list for the most part....good stuff.. HowboutthemCowboys
mcnabb and roethlisberger should be ahead of favre, garrard and delhomme... Maybe Ben but why McNabb? I'll give you a decent year for Curtis and Westy will catch his share but who else is he throwing to? Brown's hurt. Jackson's 5 foot nothin'. LJ will be hurt in a few weeks and so will McNabb. I guess Celek and Avant are gonna have career years? Seriously, I have some drafts comin' up, why so high on McNabb?
Avernus
McNabb spent the whole off-season healthy, he's had time to work out with the receivers...he's in a real nice groove with Baskett, Curtis WILL have a better year than last year since he really only had 3 very good games and did nothing otherwise.... I'll start it off with the backfield....Westy and Booker are going to provide mismatches in the passing game with Jackson who may be small, but is great in the slot and adds even more speed in the passing game with Avant who is average at this point... they are all in a pass 1st offense with 2 RB's that are great at catching the ball and the special teams is better, so they will have better field position.... when McNabb is healthy he puts up 250+ yds and at least a TD....I like the OL and the only problem I see is how quickly Andrews can get it together, but it's only a matter of time with his ability.... McNabb healthy + pass 1st offense + great OL + more speed and depth/added dimensions in the passing game = McNabb in the top 5 or 6 overall Fantasy QB's....he's had less and put up great numbers, even if he does get hurt....I don't see any reason why he would get hurt as most of his injuries have been a fluke... oh and he has shown the best accuracy and touch since I've ever seen him have in his career in the past few weeks.....he has never been this accurate in any camp/pre-season/regular season/post-season... ROYALWITCHEESE
One problem I see: If you project VY to have those rushing totals along with his passing, he would be in the middle of the tier above...

I've always been a McNabb supporter/believer. Going into this season, however, I have not really trusted him. You are starting to sway me though. Thing about McNabb, when healthy, he always gets it done. He is a bonified stud IMO and I really want to trust him this season. I would love to go into my drafts confident on him so I don't have to burn an early pick on a QB. I hope you're right about McNabb because he is truly one of the good guys and I'd love to see him succeed (for fantasy reasons and personal reasons). I just can't see how he gets hurt this season, it's not like he has injuries that he re-aggravates, he just would get a fluke injury like a sports hernia from getting speared unbelievably in the abdomen or someone falls on top of his leg and he breaks his fibula......or he slips and falls awkwardly and blows out an ACL..... he has some spread out weapons and the pass 1st offense should be enough to linger in the top 5 all season... Scare Tactics
mcnabb and roethlisberger should be ahead of favre, garrard and delhomme... a lot of people like delhomme, I think he'll be a bust.....but I like your list for the most part....good stuff.. +1 (sorta) Roethlisberger - Am I the only person who see's that Cowher is not on the sidelines anymore? That there is a new coach who seems to love to throw the ball? That Ben has the talent to throw it, and the weapons to make it happen. I keep hearing everywhere that the Steelers are a running team and thats what they will do this year. Yes I do believe that Mendenhall will help, and I also believe that the Steelers will score some more rushing TD's. But not like they used to do. And I see no reason Big Ben cant throw 28 TD's.. McNabb - I do think he is gonna have a good year, he's almost at the point where he is playing for his job, or possibly a job on another team next year. But he is a HUGE risk, and that has to be factored in when ranking him. All in all, I think u did a nice job on ur projections, and sorry if I ranted about Ben, just getting tired of seeing everyone rank him low for no apparent reason...
