fingfootball
Made this pie for a BBQ that the family went to, was a big hit. 1 (5 oz.) pkg. Jell-O Instant Vanilla Pudding 2 cups cold skim milk (you could use any milk you like) 1/2 cup whipping cream 1 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter 1 prebaked pie shell of your choice (use a ready made, refrigerated crust, or you can bake your own), lightly browned 1 (8 Ounce) container of Cool Whip Whisk together pudding mix and cold milk in bowl until creamy. Add 1/2 cup whipping cream, peanut butter. Whisk until completely blended. Pour into baked pie shell, cover with generous layer of Cool Whip whipped topping. Put in freezer for 1 hour until set. NOTE: I used a store bought Oreo Cookie pie crust. And since it was pretty warm outside I froze the pie with the Cool Whip on it (froze it solid) and it was good to go in about an hour and a half. Big John
This recipe had 2 elements that are not in most recipes (easy enough so even a bachelor can make it, and I can handle all the ingredients), so I gave it a try. Turned out to be very heavy, but rather good. One other point was that no pie shell size was given, and the grocery store had 2 sizes for this, so I tried the small one. It overfilled, so go get the larger-size pie crust. And I bought a chocolate pie crust as it seems to complement the peanut butter. fingfootball
A friend sent me that recipe. It is a sloppy and heavy pie, but man it's tasty. I'm going to make them for our post draft party this weekend and I thought this time I would whip the heavy cream before I add it to the pudding mix. Might make it lighter. I will let you know. fingfootball
Whipping the heavy cream did not make the pie any different.
