Dolphins Laying Waste to the Jags

Jags played their starters the whole first half and Miami kicked their asses all over the field. Even Chad Henne looked decent against the first string D of the Jags. Ricky Williams looks like he definately has a spark this year. On the other hand, David Garrard looks to me as if he'd have a hard time earning the clipboard carrier for someone. MJD looked decent until he fumbled the ball out of the end zone for a Fins touchback. If the Jags don't get their starting WRs in there soon, they'll be lost come week 1. There is no excuse for the defense though. Total lack of fire. I know it's a preseason game, but you're playing in front of your home crowd and look like chit if I have to say so myself.

Hmmmm. Could it be that the Jags are just a tad overrated?

Ronnie Brown was wearing a cast on his right hand at the end of the game. Nothing broken - sprained right thumb - but it is his carry hand.

Ricky Williams looked strong and ran hard - scored a TD. Those that drafted him late this year and going to be really happy with him at the start of the season.

The OLine, especially Jake Long & Smiley, looked really good. SO nice to see this team finally start building an Oline.

Chad Pennington played well and looked for Ginn a lot.

Chad Henne also looked good and played into the 4th quarter - Beck looked like he was about to cry on the sideline. Henne looked for Hagan & Bees most of the time. Earnest Wilford was a non factor

Sleeper Kicker alert - The Dolphins new kicker (Carpenter) has a strong leg. He kicked a 47 yarder that would have been good form 57.

Hey you faux jag fan.... this is called preseason, it is MEANINGLESS.

To call the jags overrated because of a week 2 preseason game is so laughable it made my cat eat her entire litter box.

Anyone rating the jags high right now need to learn a little more about the team. They have multiple issues across the board and we won't know how it will all play out until Week one when they destroy tennessee.

Miami was playing for their new boss, the jags were in a dressed practice, nothing more.

True - just pre season. Excuse us Dolphin fans - wins are hard to come by lately.

I did watch this same Dolphn team play the Jags last pre season and the Jags pushed them all over the filed - it was embarassing.

That was not the case yesterday. Long & Smiley and the rest of the young Oline are headed in the right direction.

Bob from Fernandina Beach, FL

For the second game in a row, the Jags played without passion against a team that was less talented. They get gashed by the run and they can't run the ball. The offensive line has looked poor for two weeks. What's it gonna take to get this team to quit reading its press clippings and go to work?

Vic: First of all, the offensive line was outstanding against the Falcons. If we’re gonna all jump off the bridge, then let’s at least do it for the right reasons, OK? Yeah, the line was bad against the Dolphins. So was the defensive line. So was just about every phase of the Jaguars’ performance. Am I worried? No, because it’s the preseason. I will not get bent out of shape about a preseason game. I won’t allow myself to be that stupid. There will be lots of time to be stupid once the regular season begins. I see no reason to do it now. What’s the problem? I don’t know. Maybe it was an end-of-camp hangover. I mean, seriously, what’s the motivation for this team in the preseason? Jobs are set. All but a few roster spots have been determined. Whether they win all the preseason games or lose them all, they’ll start the regular season 0-0. The motivation for a team such as the Dolphins is obvious: They have a lot of young players fighting to make the roster. They have a new administration and everything and everybody is under the microscope.
