BigMikeinNY
Just had a bottle of Peller Estates Cabernet Franc Icewine with the wife to celebrate our new home that we moved into this week! Tonight's our first night in our new home! Wow was that stuff great. It was smooth and was so appropriate for after dinner. We only got about 2 glasses out of the bottle though, it was only 375 ml. I am a little familiar with how the get the grapes from ice wine. Any advice or recomendations? BigMike
Kid Cid
For total decadence, in the summer make sno-cones with ice wine as the syrup. Yum.

All the nuance of Cab Franc distilled. When you say advice, what are you looking for? One thing I can suggest is a way more affordable alternative because, as you obviously found out, the real thing is damned pricey. Bonny Doon Winery makes what they call a Vin de Glacier of Muscat Canelli. Basically, they pick the grapes, then partially freeze them and press them. This results in a similar wine but costs way less than leaving grapes on the vine long enough for the vineyard to freeze and then going out at the crack of dawn to pick a bunch of frozen grapes. Riesling is the most common grape used in Eiswein as Germany is sort of the main place for the stuff. Again, beautiful wines.
