sorry is this is kind of a dead topic by now...

did brendan albert play last night? whats his status?

i saw LJ last week and just looked at his boxscore from last night...the guy looks lighter....pretty nice schedule...if croyle, gonzalez, and bowe can keep defenses honest....he should do well enough....lookin like a decent pick if u get stuck in the bottom half of the 1st

Albert did not play, and probably won't until the first couple weeks of the season.

This O-line is definitely opening up running lanes. Let's not discount the fact that LJ has a true fullback this year and not a convert from a different position a la Boomer Grigsby and Kris Wilson.

The true fullback in and of itself will help Johnson this year. And he looks pissed again. That is a good thing.

And another thing, Chan Gailey is making a HUGE impact on this offense already.

I saw one place talk about the "miles" on LJ....I was like  ...he is barely over 1000 carries in his career and 40% of those came in one season (which very well might've been the problem). It isn't like he was a 3- or 4-year bellcow in college either, having only one season over 200 carries - His age (29) is troubling, but even worst case, given his low mileage, he should last another 2-3 years.

So are we saying LJ will have a bounce back year? I was very low on LJ but am turning around a bit. He actually could provide some great value. He's one of the few every down backs left in the league if he's healthy. Isn't 14 carries in the 2nd pre-season game a bit much or is he healthy as a horse this year and ready to go?

Croyle could be the problem here. I would not be shocked to see the Chiefs go to Huard at some point real quick this season. Like after 2 games if Croyle stinks it up.

Rebuilding is one thing: stunting the growth of the whole team because of one man is another.

i was the same way at first glance...but im starting to change my tune....and thats my point...he might be a great value

i thought i remember seeing something where he said he actually wanted to get some healthy work in the preseason instead of resting

i think hes a nice option if yer picking in the 7-12 range...and if you can land him around 10-12 you might be getting a real good value...im sure alot of people will be down on him.....i know croyle is what he is...but bowe is a playmaker...between him and gonzo they should be able to help lj a bit
