Deathpig
1000 yards? We'll see. Every year there are a lot more Lance Moore's than Colston's. I'm not saying he won't. He looks good but Jacoby Jones looked great last year too. Like I said in a prior post, I wouldn't put his ceiling past the rookie seasons of Torry Holt or Calvin Johnson just yet (750ish yards and 4-6 TDs). As a negative, he's not playing across from a bona-fide good to great receiver (Holt had Bruce and Johnson had Williams) and the offensive line hasn't looked great pass-blocking yet. The absence of another receiver is exactly what's given him the opportunity though-- he has no Driver and Jennings to beat out to be a starter (like, say, Jacoby Jones). As a positive, his WR coach is the same guy that was coaching Anquan Boldin in his rookie season (1377 yards, 8 TDs) on a bad Cardinals team (with below average quarterbacks and coming off a surprisingly similar 5-11 record the year prior). He currently is no better than a WR4, and that itself is a bit of a gamble. He is likely going to be given an opportunity, so he has upside, but that doesn't come without risk (unproven QB, unproven offensive line, rookie WR). This can turn out well (Boldin and arguably Colston) or it can turn out poorly (almost every other rookie WR thrust onto a bad team). Buyer beware.
