Texans RB Slaton held out of practice

He looked pretty good last Friday in the pre-season game so wonder when this happened...has he been playing through it for awhile?

From the Texans site-

Rookie Steve Slaton was bothered by turf toe after Friday’s game and rode an exercise bike during practice, but he doesn’t anticipate missing much time on the field. The coaches probably will rotate Slaton and Chris Taylor as the starting backs against the Bucs and then work in Darius Walker and Marcel Shipp.

I still don't think C.Taylor will remain healthy and will be injured by week 1 if not week 1. Of course I'm wrong most of the time so who knows.

There are reportedly "sneaky suspicions" in Houston that Steve Slaton will play more in Week 1 than Texans coach Gary Kubiak has let on.

Slaton won't start (Ahman Green will), but anyone who's tracked the situation should know that the rookie is likely to play a lot on third downs and between the 20s. Against Pittsburgh, however, he'd be a poor fantasy option.
