budlitebrad
According to Miami radio station 790 The Ticket, which is in Johnson's hometown, the receiver has legally changed his last name to "Ocho Cinco." Johnson's -- sorry -- Ocho Cinco's reported name change has been rumored in NFL circles for weeks, and according to the station today, it's official. He never ceases to amaze me. CaptainHook
I'm sorry, but that's funny. Now what's the NFL gonna do? Make a rule you have to use you BIRTH last name?

piratesownninjas
please shut up and play football. I don't have a problem with his antics for the most part... He plays through injuries and has a desire to be one of the best. I look at him like I look at a cartoon character.

millerx
Does this mean we get to deport him?
ROYALWITCHEESE
Does this mean we get to deport him? Not sure what that means. Not every American has an Anglo-Saxon name. Take our next president for instance... As for the topic, he was quoted as saying he was going to out-smart the league. Maybe there's a way to annul this after about six months, so after the season his name goes back to the one his momma gave him. I have a hard time believing this is a permanent change... So, if his name is now "Ocho Cinco", I guess that just the "Cinco" part will go on his jersey. If he was really smart, he would have just dropped Johnson and added "Ocho-Cinco" as his new last name. Dumas.

Pkillebr
I would just absolutely love to see him traded and being refused his number by the new coach. That would just be perfect.
Big John
I would just absolutely love to see him traded and being refused his number by the new coach. That would just be perfect. Or to DET or STL where 85 is retrired?
Nabb
I'm guessing at this point Ocho Cinco is trying to convince his fellow WR to change his name to "T.J. Whosyourmamma"
Savage Beatings
You know what... I think that regardless of the pain he feels in his shoulder because of the torn labrum, there is no way that he would risk losing the spotlight this season. He wants every week to have every camera focused on his Ocho Cinco jersey. I have no idea if he cares about football or winning, but I'm definitely sure that he is motivated enough to stay on the field just for the attention. Big John
So now if he wears a jersey saying Johnson will he be fined? Rules say it has to be his name on the jersey, so that would be a fine.

The Irish Doggy
By law, he has 9 more allowable lifetime name changes, so he could give himself a new name if he ever gets a new team. Oh the hughmanity!
