dan415
Okay, I invested a 2nd round pick on Ryan Grant. He didn't take any snaps in the preseason and now I just read he didn't participate in practice. I'm getting a bit nervous about him. Anyone have any inside info? What's going on? Think he'll play on Monday night?
gilthorp
I think he will play on Monday night. This kid has already proved to everyone that he doesn't need reps as a #1 in any practice to be effective in a game. I don't own him in any league either. Randall
You had to know he was holding out and had a tight hamstring if you researched him. He has practiced but didn't today. He's playing.
HowboutthemCowboys
You had to know he was holding out and had a tight hamstring if you researched him. does'nt everyone that holds out end up with a hammy? Only pick in 4 drafts so far that I'm regretting.
muck
IMO, this says more about the quality of the backup RBs in GB than it does about Grant...can't afford for RG to get hurt...
acheckeye
I think he'll play, but I really wouldn't be counting on him for much production against minny anyways.
Savage Beatings
I love the Vikes, but teams can still run on them. Keep in mind that a lot of teams chose to keep throwing against the Vikes last year more because their secondary was so bad than because their run D was impregnable. Minnesota will probably throw a good number of blitzes at Rodgers since he is a new starter and since they'll want to showcase the Jared Allen acquisition. If Green Bay can see it coming they could definitely hurt the Vikings D with well-timed screens (LB pass coverage was a weakness for Minnesota last year). rattsass
Grant went for 119 and a TD vs. Vikings last year in week 10. He is a play.

He is a play. good find, but last year minnisota had to respect the pass. This time around they only have to respect the run unless rodgers proves otherwise. acheckeye
He will . hey i hope he does as much as the next guy, but i think things will be a bit shaky for a few weeks before he gets into a rythm. i think he could post similar numbers to what romo had 2 years ago. Bird Dog
I would not start him. The Minny D will shut him down as they beat up on Rogers. Plus I'd keep an eye on the Packers center he might not play. Edited September 3, 2008 by Bird Dog

dan415
yes - he missed again today Actually, the Packers don't practice on Wednesdays, so he didn't really miss practice again.
muck
For what it's worth, I'm sitting Grant in week one.... ...because I'm going to start SJax and MLynch instead...
Balzac
Actually, the Packers don't practice on Wednesdays, so he didn't really miss practice again. Just going off what I read from my homies at rotoworld: Ryan Grant (hamstring) was held out of Packers practice Wednesday. The Packers don't play until Monday night and may simply be proceeding with caution here, but it's a situation to keep track of. Grant's hamstring has been an issue since early August and he isn't a sure bet to face Minnesota. Source: Minneapolis Star-Tribune
