Randall
Here we go. Both teams will try and make a statement with this game. Anyone want to chime in on how it will transpire?

Hugh 0ne
Should be interesting. A lot of questions will be answered. How good is Rodgers? How improved is the Vikings defense? How bad is Tarvaris? Which of the 2nd year backs will continue to shine? Can the Vikes win without a QB, or can the Packers win without Favre? How much of an impact will Jared Allen have? Etc., etc. I'll put on my purple homer glasses and say Vikes 24, Packers 17.
coloradocoz1
Rodgers shows he will be a good NFL quarterback and has a solid game. Green Bay loads the box and holds Peterson to an average performance> Tavaris tries to prove he can be an NFL quarterback and fails. Savage Beatings
Most people are going to think that this will be a low scoring game. Two very good Defenses going up against two unproven Offenses. In games like this where I expect a low score, the opposite almost always occurs. I think that they will all be totally pumped up and that it will come down to the wire. Unfortunately Green Bay will have the loud crazy home field advantage which might make all the difference between these two. I think either team could pull this one out, but I'll go with the Homer prediction of... Vikings 31 Packers
Bronco Billy
Packer statement: We will be a better team without Favre because we will eliminate stupid mistakes and be more consistent. Viking statement: Oh No! We suck again!

I am feeling an ugly game where neither team looks all that good on offense. Part of that, IMO, is both teams have pretty good Ds and part is both QBs will likely be jittery and both offenses have gone through the preseason missing some key players. I think it will come down to whichever QB makes fewer mistakes and the game will likely be decided by Crosby or Longwell late. Fatman
Trench battle - we need Pickett and Jolly to have big games. Wells won't be in, so keeping ARODG upright will be a challenge. Randall
Rodgers has a solid game, plays within the confines the system.Peterson runs all over the place.Pack wins a close one that goes down to the wire. 27-24 That's what I like about Rodgers, staying within the system. Favre's gunslinger instincts were exciting but too often exciting for the opposition. I think either team could win with 27 points.

Hat Trick
This thread has been pretty useless honestly, not one person went outside the box, these two teams and fan bases hate each other, not one person on here predicted their own team to lose, that I can see anyway. Gopher
Tough game to predict... a lot of unknowns, as was mentioned earlier. Honestly, I could see either team winning this in a blowout. Minnesota runs crazy and Rodgers struggles, or the Vikings' pass offense is so inept that they can't score, and GB blows them out by default. However, here is my gut feeling: GB defense contains MN's running game, "limiting" Peterson/Taylor to around 170 total yards combined. MN pass offense struggles big-time, with the exception of a couple of screen passes to the backs and maybe one big catch by Berrian. Rodgers manages the game (and avoids turnovers) just enough to keep it close. Turnover late by MN (maybe Tarvaris) opens the door for a GB win. GB 20 MIN 16 Edit: Spelled Jackson's name wrong the first time.... Edited September 8, 2008 by Gopher

All BS aside, I'm not sure what you were looking for. Two tough defenses, two unproven QB's and second year RB's. Lots of off-season moves. This is a cr*pshot, but it won't be a shootout. I think everyone here is being very realistic as opposed to thinking outside of the box and making an outlandish prediction. JMHO.
alexgaddis
Donald Lee scores twice tonight but Longwell hits a last second FG to win the game for the Vikes... then all three of Big Mike in NY's predictions come true...

Looks like we're in doubt about own teams chances. After this game we should get a felling about our teams. Tonight Donald Driver will be schooling the rookie safety. That's because Vikes' fans are in a perpetual state of denial. It's all the mental & emotional scarring of having to wear purple with goldilocks wigs and then getting their arses whipped by GB.
