Kansas State 2000
He's in the locker room getting his ribs looked at. Felix Jones in for rest of day. Edited September 7, 2008 by Kansas State 2000
budlitebrad
They may have to start using Jones more as the season goes on. Barber ain't gonna last taking the bulk of the carries.

Menudo
If Barber is healthy, the Cowboys have the perfect Thunder and Lightning combo. Felix Jones is the real deal, and Marion Barber is a beast.

Perchoutofwater
I hope Barber is OK. I have him on a couple of teams but more importantly, I'm a Cowboy fan. Jones can probably carry the ball just fine, but I don't see him picking up some of the blocks Barber does.
Flip_Side
WOW. idk if the Cleveland D has just given up or if Felix is just this good. Edited September 7, 2008 by Flip_Side

Riffraff
The OL is making some very nice holes for the RBs and giving Romo all day to throw. Jones is looking real good, so is Choice. TDFFFreak
Wow. I hate to see anyone get injured and I hope Barber is okay, but as a Felix Jones owner in multiple leagues, this bodes well for Jones even if Barber is okay...

Kansas State 2000
No question mark, he did get x-rays and why would you not? Always rule out a break.
Perchoutofwater
Cowboys | Barber injury updateSun, 7 Sep 2008 17:08:23 -0700 Updating a previous report, Tim MacMahon, of The Dallas Morning News, reports the X-rays done on the bruised ribs of Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber III (ribs) were negative. The Cowboys are optimistic that Barber will be able to play Week 2. Per KFFL Hopefully this report is correct. Jones looked great, but Barber brings some toughness, particularly in the short yardage situations and pass blocking that would be missed if is unable to go. Avernus
via sportsline Marion Barber, RB DALNews: Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber was taken to the locker room with bruised ribs in the second half of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns and didn't return. He rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries in helping the Cowboys build a 21-7 halftime lead and also had three catches for 21 yards. He had five carries in the third quarter before leaving the game. Coach Wade Phillips said afterwards he's a "little worried" about Barber's injury but wouldn't speculate on the severity or if the running back will be ready for Philadelphia in Week 2. Analysis: The worst part of the injury is that Barber left on a scoring drive and saw rookie Felix Jones punch in a 11-yard touchdown that could have been his. The Cowboys had a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter, so there was no need to force Barber back in the game. In the first half, he looked like the same punishing running back he was last year, only without Julius Jones around to siphon carries. Jones looked good enough in the second half that he could have earned himself more looks in Week 2, but Barber remains the top guy in Dallas. Consider him a must-start if he's healthy enough to play, but you will obviously want to monitor him over the week. The fact the head coach is worried is never a good sign.
