Wish I could have seen it. Hope NFLN shows it this week.

I think you can make that bet!!! It was awesome, especially given the fact that they won without the services of Smith.

Jake threw for nearly 250 yards, Rosario, Moose, Hackett and even Jarrett made plays all day. The Panthers got away from the running game that was quite effective in the 1st half and gave the Chargers a chance to get back into the game. Once Steve Smith gets back in a few weeks.... I am liking our chances to win some games this season!

BTW, major props to you on singling this guy out in pre-season. I just hope that TD doesn't put him on everyone's radar because watching that game it was abundantly clear that dude is going to be a major part of the offense.

Thanks. I love my Panthers since I have season tickets and can see things that don't always show up on TV, I am happy to give my Panthers insights to my fellow Huddlers. My guess is that Rosario's coming out party will mean that he will be a top target on the WW for those in need of TE help. Even with Steve Smith coming back in the picture against the Vikings in a few weeks, Rosario will defintiely continue to play a significant role in the offense. He is athletic, fast and has terrific hands. He had a great TC and showed what he could do in the Redskins game a few weeks ago making a great grab to score a TD that game. If you are fortunate enough to grab him, don't be afraid to plug him in as I think he may turn into the 2nd option for Jake (after SS of course).

Great win for the Panthers however let's not get carried away. For the last 3-4 years the Panthers are on everyone's board at the start of the season as Super Bowl contenders but year after year they disappoint. Hopefully, this year they can get rid of the "Underachiever" label they seem to earn every year!

If you drafted the Chargers Defense, I think you need to worry. That game was not lost on the last play, it was lost in the first half. The D could not stop the Panther running game. Some of the worst tackling I have ever seen. There were at least 10 plays for loss or no gain that ended up 5 yards or more down the field (a credit to the hard running Panther RBs as well.) It was maddening as a Charger fan. Maybe they get it fixed after a couple full games, but as of yesterday, the Chargers did not have the ball enough in the first half to do anything with it. Cooper's suspention was obviously felt yesterday! If they could have gotten a few stops in the first half, and a better roll on the muffed punt, that game could have been a walk away in the second half.

I think the Chargers are well conditioned and eventually started to wear the Panthers down in the second half, especially after they seemed to wake up. DMD mentioned the Chargers were playing at "full strength", but the O-Line played that game without two starters, both pro-bowl players (Hardwick, McNiel). Rivers looked great and moved well (he had too :D). LT had a journeyman type performance and I think also this was due to the band-aid O-Line. Oh yeah, he hurt his toe also. We'll see where that goes!

One thing is for certain, they looked like the old Chargers D. Giving up the long, game losing points in a close game on the last drive. :D:D
