muck
Last week, 37 rookies started across the NFL. Six of those were on the Chiefs.
The Wolf
Herm Edwards is still your coach. King Carl is still calling the shots. Fans are not allowed to behave like fans while at the game. it's a shame...this is a proud franchise, rich in tradition. To be in this state is insane. Skilly
It's been a tough run for the Chiefs. They lost thier HOF O-linemen to retirement, and their only decent qb since.....................jeez, I guess Montana. Not to mention their best defensive player in free agency. It's just the pains of rebuilding. They seem to have had two good drafts in a row, but they gotta do something soon about the qb situation. And as for the remark about the Chargers and Broncos having it easy with the Chiefs and Raiders in the same division (Monday night's game being the exception), that generality just doesn't hold water. Typically, each year the AFC West divisional games are among the most competitive in the league. These same teams have been at each other's throats now for over 30 years, and they are very familiar with each other. So, yes, it will be a long season for KC, but every team at some point goes through a slump. Just gotta ride it out.
budlitebrad
Based on an analysis of NFL Kickoff Weekend rosters, the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs are tied for the youngest roster with an average age of 25.57 years. 3rd year in a row for the Packers. fingfootball
Hell, I thought last Sunday's game was going to be 42-3. Chief Dick was the only one to predict it would be a remotely close game, everyone else thought that they would get schooled. Sunday's game was much more entertaining than I could ever thought. For the first time since Herm the Worm came in and dismantled our team, I am actually kinda excited about what could happen with this team. Agree with this. As a matter of fact, I could see the Chiefs actually win 5-6 games this year vs. the 2-3 I thought.
muck
Bah. 5-6 wins is the absolute ceiling for KC this year. Regarding how KC did in week one, I think that its more likely that NE went into week one as being overrated than KC went into week one as being underrated. BeeR
Bah. 5-6 wins is the absolute ceiling for KC this year. With Huard at QB.......... well OK yeah. He is a decent QB though, and if the OL somehow can just not totally suck, they could approach .500. Not saying they will, but not so impossible. And hey maybe it's not such a bad thing anyway - as stated they're rebuilding anyway so let Croyle hopefully finally fade away and keep building the O and - ah hell it'd take Hank Stram to fix this. muck
Probability distribution for KC's wins: Wins Probability 0 0% 1 5% 2 15% 3 30% 4 25% 5 20% 6 5% 7+ 0% Weighted Average = 3.55 wins Projected Season = 4-

Chavez
I guess if you want to call my contributions in a smack-talk thread bashing, have at it. As far as the Chiefs go, they've got a great tailgating tradition and a great game-day atmosphere, and as an original AFC team had some terrific players (Buchanan, Culp, Garret, Dawson, Taylor, etc) but have been pretty thin in the "legend" category from the 70s-mid 90s. One of the best defensive backfields of the 80s was wasted in KC. I certainly respect them, and think Carl Peterson is a good GM, but your coach sucks, with all capital letters. SUCKS. I have no idea why he was so attractive to Peterson where he had to give up draft picks to get him. And sorry to break it to you, but all evidence points to your team being crappy this year as well, which isn't really the Chiefs' fans fault. But if I had to pick a team other than GB to root for, KC would be on the short list.
Randall
The Jets have more Lombardi Trophies than the Vikings.
