SLAYER
Yesterday the Saints released Hollis Thomas reaching an injury settlement with him one day after placing him on IR. They really didn't want to do this but their hand was forced by a rash on injuries to hit the Saints. Thomas will be ready to play in 4-5 weeks and they need the D-Line help. They told him to stay in shape and rehab the arm and they will probably resign him in the near future, instead of losing him all year to IR. Big John any chance you can link to the actual NFL Rule?

So really he was not officially put on IR and by accepting the injury settlement he is a FA and can sign with ant team.
