Broncos' Marshall suffers bad cutsDenver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall appeared in Denver County Court this afternoon and pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of DWAI (driving while ability impaired) in connection with an October 2007 drunken driving arrest.

According to Lynn Kimbrough, spokesman for the District Attorney's Office, Marshall was sentenced to 12 months probation and all of the usual terms and conditions: 24 hours of community service, a level II alcohol treatment program, attending a victim impact panel and costs, fines and fees that total $1,132.

He also received eight points on his drivers license.

By making the guilty plea, Marshall avoided a jury trial that was slated to begin next week.

The Oct. 22, 2007 traffic citation was one of several incidents involving the football star that led to the NFL suspending him for the first game

I get the feeling that in the meeting with Goodell that he discussed it and they determined that pleaing it down was the best course of action. He'll get none or a one game suspension.

The suspension could have included this.
