They are receiving yards as the play started as a pass play. Manning gets all the passing yards, from the beginning of the play until the very end. Gonzales gets receiving yards up to the point he lateraled the ball. Wayne got the receiving yards from that point until he was down.

Correct. Manning would have been credited with a TD pass had the call not been overturned (which screwed me out of 4 points - not to mention Peyton getting stuffed on the subsquent goalline sneaks :wacko::D

Thanks for the clarification...I was asking this last night, but I guess no one knew the answer...it still doesn't make any sense to me that PEyton would get the points for a td, since he had no part in Gonz pitching the ball.

Is it really any different than a long screen pass that the RB takes the distance? Not sure the QB does a lot but the initial setup.

But since it came on a passing play, and there isn't a category for "laterals for touchdowns", it has to go somewhere . . . :wacko:
