THE FIGHTING SARAH PALINS

Donald Driver, GB WR

for

And the guy getting LT is the commish ... hhhhmmmm!

Can you post their reasons for wanting to do this trade?

:D If your league lets this happen, you should find new friends or a different league, clearly LT was a #1 pick? Driver was like Avg. 8th round! I don't know how you can justify that? My league Driver was 7.7 and LT was 1.1? That's a difference of 78 draft positions, seems fair to me!

I'm sorry, I must have missed it. Your evidence of collusion is what again, exactly?

If LT suffers through turf toe all season and Driver becomes Rodgers' security blanket, I think it is plausible that Driver outscores LT, especially in a ppr league.

Driver is currently outscoring LT in all 5 leagues that I play in. Is there someone here who is willing to offer an ironclad guarantee that LT outperforms Driver the rest of the season - no caveats or weasel language whatsoever, like we see from some people who like to hedge their bets? If so, let's see you ante up right here, right now. If not, then there should be no more talk of vetoing the trade.

So, I should offer Courtney Taylor for Steve Smith? He is WAYYY outscoring Smith!

If you think it's a fair trade that you think will improve your team, then go for it. Personally I think you'd be stupid to do it, but I don't feel a nannyist compunction to manage your team. I have enough issues managing my own teams.

"Collusion" rules are practically worthless. You're never going to have evidence of it, other than your interpretation of the trade at issue.

What most people call "collusion" is an unfair trade based about various circumstances.

Based solely on the injury, I would consider it. We really don't know how bad the injury really is? Based on performance? Driver has outscored LT. But Eddie Royal has outscored T.O. in my league and I'm positive the league wouldn't approve a Royal/Owens trade. I just can't see how it's fair?

I can't see how anyone could stop that trade from happening.

Okay, let me ask you this question: If you vote to veto this trade because your feel it is unfair and it turns out that you are wrong, are you willing to contribute to paying the wronged owner's dues for this season? Because you've inserted yourself into the management of his team, it's only fair that you pay dues if that management turns out to be faulty.

This proposed trade screws up the league for EVERYONE else in the league, and upsets the entire competitive balance of it. You guys are dreaming if you're measuring two weeks of production as the yardstick as to whether this makes sense. You can't let stupidity upset the entire league, and basically ruin everyone else's investment of time and money by letting the first pick in the draft change teams for next to nothing. Driver is serviceable, but his time is likely past. Maybe I'd consider Jennings for LT, but even that is a stretch. It smells of collusion, but even if its not, its stupidity on one owners part, and the commissioner's dictum is to make decisions in the best interests of the league (the money paying owners), and should veto this dilly of a trade.

I don't either, but you'll always find people who are certain that they not only know more than other owners in their leagues, but that they can also accurately predict future events. I've also found that these people often use name recognition as the sole reason for disallowing trades.

I can guarantee LT will outscore Driver, even if he suffers through this injury all season. The only way LT doesnt outscore Driver is if LT is out for the season. Id take LT over Driver in a redraft 100 times out of 100, even with his injury woes.

What are your willing to put up as a guarantee of your ability to foresee future events? Talk is cheap.

yikes, i agree with BB...also what is missing is what each teams rosters look like...sorry but roster composition is an important aspect.

and where someone was drafted means nada

would trading say Ocho Cinco, Bryanty Johnson and Greenway for Braylon Edwards be a fair trade?

So I suppose you guys would have vetoed a preseason trade of Cutler for Brady???? How would that have turned out??

Woould you have stopped it if the guy had drafted Driver ahead of LT would you??

Is it a stupid trade? Probably, but you can't legislate stupidity.... Does it hurt the league, yes...

The worst part of the trade is that the commish is involved... s/he should worry more about the integrity of the league. Makes the commish look bad.

Are you guys saying there is never collusion unless you hear or see in writing that the owners are colluding? So you would never veto a trade without this evidence? I'm sure you could justify Westbrook, TO, and Romo for STL DEF, Ben Utech, and Javon Walker. Could be legit, never know what going to happen. Give me a break.

My vote is 1 of 12, and to tell you the truth we are a Y##h## league and have been for about 8 years and had a similar problem and now the Y##h## knobs mediate our trades. I'm not sure how they do it? But it takes the "VETO" out of our hands and there hasn't been a trade rejected and there's been some.....not so fair trades. But Billy I usually like your stuff but gonna have to pass on this one."!Disclaimer"My opinion"!
