JO-E
So I heard he might get the start. With no good wr's for the Hawks you think there is a chance he can be a surprise? Or will just repeat prior history? To pick up or not to pick up, that is the question

Yea, but he may get more targets this week than he would for the rest of the year. I have a feeling that the no-one really knows how involved he will be in this week's game. Savage Beatings
Is Seattle pretty much running the same offense as they did when he was originally with the team? Anyone know? If so, I would bet that he could become a significant factor rather quickly (even this week).

If so, I would bet that he could become a significant factor rather quickly (even this week). Yeah, he got his old job back, starting at split end. My bet is that he doesn't get more than 20 snaps due to the shape that he is in. Colbert will most likely play more, since he has been with a team all year. But with Koren, those 20 snaps could turn into a few big plays. Very risky start, too risky for me, even though I don't really have any good options. From the sounds of it, Koren is going to be starting at split when Branch and Engram return, making him a decent long-term option, especially if Branch returns as the same worthless pile he has been since he's been here. There is a chance that Koren becomes Hasselbeck's second option for the remainder of the season.
Medal of Honor
Where are you reading the K-rob is out of shape? Everything I've read has suggested the opposite. He was living in one of the Carolinas and had a personal trainer, working out on a daily basis, anticipating a move to a team this season. And yeah, I think he might be worth a start. If I didn't have better options, I'd start him knowing he is the #1 WR on the depth chart this week, and they are playing the Rams, and he is returning to an offense he pretty much already knows (save for any new plays they've come up with over the last few years). It's pretty much just important that he knows the terminology and design of the offense, rather than each specific play. cre8tiff
My alternative is Courtney. Hell yeah I'm starting him.
Medal of Honor
He's a start over any Seahawks WR all year except for Engram and ARGUABLY Branch, although I have more faith in Krob than Branch personally.

Holmgren spoke to the media, I believe yesterday, and spoke about how Koren isn't in game shape. He mentioned that Colbert is in much better shape at this point since he was in training camp and has been practicing every day. Hugh Millen was at practice and said Koren's arms clearly aren't defined anymore and his upper body appears a little soft, and he was breathing heavily in practice, even though they didn't make him do all that much. The good news is that he caught everything thrown his way. Koren himself said in his media group conference call that his role early on will just be to provide a little spark and try to help the team win. Even if you are working with a trainer, there is no way to be in game shape without going through camp. I think those that are hoping Koren has a big week are probably reaching. Dude, a big week for a Seattle WR isn't the same as a big week for the rest of the league. I'm hoping 50 and maybe a touch, TOPS. And that's against my beloved, toothless Lambs. Oh and BTW, Krob will still burn fricken Kory "Runs in Mud" Chavous, even with 40 pounds of blubber on his fat ass.

Or will just repeat prior history? To pick up or not to pick up, that is the question His prior history the last few years has been pretty good when he's thrown the ball. In GB he was the #4 or 5 WR. He knows the offense but on the other side isn't in football shape yet. You could do worse.
Medal of Honor
Interesting. I'll take Holmgren's word for it of course. It you ONLY had Hugh "Know-Nothing-About-Sports" Millen's word, I would question it Still, one of the above posters made a good point. He does know the offense and he IS going against the Rams. You could do worse. He'll be in shape over the course of the next few weeks. Having a Bye next week will help him significantly if he doesn't take any time off. Seahawk37
I wouldnt play him unless you got no other hopes for production this week. Krob has a lot of potential to put up some numbers esspecially being a home game against a bad defense, he should get a lot of looks during the game so there definatley is potential. Risk vs reward i guess.
Caveman_Nick
Who's FF WR corps is so depleted that this is a good option? Maybe we can help with whomever else is on your WW? Mine. I am looking at starting Jericho Cotchery and Micheal Clayton. Burelson's gone and who knows what the deal is with Reggie Brown. Chris Henry's not ready to play yet. Donte Stallworth is injured. Josh Cribbs, Bobby Wade, and Jeff Webb are not presenting themselves as good options. There is nobody on the WW. Deep dynasty league. But I happened to get KRob and Laurent Robinson this week. Medal of Honor
Reggie Brown will get his start this week. Even with a lot of weapons in that offense, I think he's worth a start this week if you are that depleted. HE has more upside than Robinson. I would still get Robinson and hold on to him on your bench. He'll develop quickly.

First of all, Hugh Millen knows as much about football as anyone on this planet. The guy is just a nut. You should see his computer sometime. He literally has built excel programs that will predict and analyze things that most analysts can't even fathom. I learned more from watching football with him in one season than I learned from my previous 23 years of watching football. It is kind of hard to call a stat geek a genius, but to see him hypothesize and ultimately prove his theories is just crazy. The thing about Koren, is that this is kind of a one-week gig. He only has a chance to be the #1 option this one week. After this, no matter how good of shape he gets in, he is still going to be a #3 WR. If you like his talent and want to use him, this is the week you have to do it.

Medal of Honor
I still think he'll be used more in the long run then Branch, when he proves he's more capable of catching passes. Unless this is the year that Branch shows us he's worth what we paid for him.

Medal of Honor
When he gets into shape, I would PREFER if we put Krob back for returns (kick and punt both).
Seahawk37
I would think Krob has a shot at being the number two WR, being as Holmgren loves using Engram from the slot. I think if he succeeds and does well eventually he could be the number 2 man.
Medal of Honor
I agree that bobby will be in the slot, but if Krob starts across from him doesn't that mean he will be the #1 man? Also, the Seattle times is suggesting that Krobs knee is just sore cause he is out of shape. I haven't heard anyone say it will hold him out of the game. Man I can't wait for the Giants game. We will actually have a receiving corps!

We will actually have a receiving corps! No, Koren will be the split end, Branch the flanker, Bobby in the slot. There is always a possibility that Bobby Engram stays on the field as the split end when we are in two WR sets, but my bet is that Koren and Branch are on the field. The Seahawks really don't throw often from two WR sets, so it doesn't really matter which guy comes off the field. Branch technically is the #1 based on the position he plays, Koren would be the #2, and Bobby the #3. That said, Bobby is still #1 in terms of production, head and shoulders above the next closest, which will probably remain to be Carlson.
