JUICE123
Looks like Fargas is out for a few weeks maybe even more with a groin strain and Mcfadden has a turf toe which might effect him all season. Now, that being said, Bush looks like hes going to have a major role on offense. I've seen videos of him from college and preseason and he looked pretty damn good. I've also read a lot about this guy and he was supposed to be a first round draft pick before he broke his leg. Even when Fargas comes back Bush may still be #2 behind Mcfadden all season long depending on how well he does from here on out and since Oakland runs the ball a minimum of 25x, I'd have to say Bush can be strong #3 RB with upside since he'll be the goal line back. Anyone disagree?

Easy n Dirty
I'm curious to see what others think on this one too - any info on how troublesome McFadden's toe really is? Seems like despite a poor passing game, Oakland has been able to run the ball pretty succesfully, in 2007 and so far in 2008 - seems like Bush is worth a pickup. If he stays #2 to McFadden, he might be a decent bye week filler in larger leagues, and like you say he has alot of upside if McFadden is out or limited. Is Bush the likely goalline back? I guess so, he looks like a big guy.
RaiderSteve
I like Bush. There is no doubt with given 20- 25 carries with Fargas and McFad out he could produce good numbers! How have the Bills done against the run this season? Too lazy to look but I thought I read somewhere they have been pretty good. Even against a pretty good run d I still like him to put up decent numbers. I drafted him to back up McFadden in a few leagues just in case this very thing happened. Easy n Dirty
How have the Bills done against the run this season? Too lazy to look but I thought I read somewhere they have been pretty good. Bills have a very good run defense. In the two games so far this season, they've allowed 183 yards on the ground at a 3.8 YPC clip...and that includes 6 carries for 32 yards against them by David Garrard. No RB has yet topped 50 yards against them.
Marauders11
Rookie McFadden returns to Raiders practice McFadden Darren McFadden (turf toe) returned to Raiders practice Thursday. The team hasn't disclosed how much McFadden will do in the workout, but his chances of playing at Buffalo just went way up. An active McFadden would be very hard to sit, even if he's a shaky bet to make it through the entire game. Oakland figures to run like crazy against the Bills on Sunday. Sep. 18 - 2:57 pm et article: Run DMC September 18, 2008 McFadden returns, Fargas and Kwame sit ALAMEDA -- RB Darren McFadden was at practice this morning after sitting out yesterday's session with turf toe. We'll find out how much he actually does in practice in a couple of hours when coach Lane Kiffin gives the injury report. LT Kwame Harris (knee) and RB Justin Fargas (groin) aren't practicing. Harris has been out since a Denver defender rolled into his leg during the Raiders' season-opening loss.

This is somewhat misleading in that (i) I don't think you can really give any credit to games against that decimated JAX o-line (their entire O is a mess); and (ii) if you combine Jones and Morris in the SEA game, they put up a respectable 19 carries for 76 yards on the ground. I think OAK should have little problem running on these guys . . . Edited September 18, 2008 by Balzac

I think OAK should have little problem running on these guys . . . 76 yards rushing from the RB position doesn't seem like all that to me, but perhaps you are correct - I had the impression that the Bills were tough against the run last year as well, but I went and looked it up after your post and their rushing defense was 25th in the league last year.
