Thanks but will he finish?

I don't know, lol.

It didn't even come up on the NFL main page yet, it was just in our fantasy area for All Players it said AP is starting.

NFL Network reports that the Vikings expect RB Adrian Peterson (hamstring) to play vs. Carolina in Week 3, barring any setbacks in warm-ups this morning. An official decision will be made after warm-ups.

(Updated 09/21/2008).

Thats the latest.

For what it's worth Mort was just on radio saying that he thought AP would have to feel "really good" to get the start today. He seemed to be thinking AP would not figure a lot into this game.

just saw the live look in by ESPN

AP looked fine warming up and the reporter said he would be playing - AP gave her a wink and a thumbs up

he was shown high-stepping down the field and didn't seem to have any problem

take it for what it's worth

The high stepping was impressive. Almost as if the hamstring had no effect on the up and down motion of the high step. Good technique also.

If you are AP owner you want him to start it means the leg is fine. if he had rest the leg that would mean it was serious.

IMO the Vikes were making a big deal out of nothing.

you can't rest a guy every time he has a little boo-boo or they'd never play.

I'm hoping he won't start. I'd rather see him rest that leg this week than do more damage to it.

Yes Im a Taylor owner, and no Im not playing against AP today BUT I would think they would rest this guy for at least 1 game for precautions. This guy has a long history of injury, and anyone NOT handcuffing AP with Taylor really wasnt smart IMO.

IMO

AP has two values

First he's a starter who will get you 80+ yards every game

second he's a threat to go for 200+ yards any game and that is why I want him to start as many games as possible you never know which week he may be a 40+ point fantasy player.

coaches have become such out and out liars these days, trying to use every ounce of deception and intrigue to throw off opposing coaches (a la belichick and his weekly injury report shenanigans) so i'm firmly betting that AP plays and plays well, as does LT tomorrow night. just a hunch.

I don't know if you understand hamstring injuries. I'm fairly certain that it's not 100%, and if he goes in and tweaks it bad his value could take a major hit all year long. If he does play on a bad hammy you don't have to worry about any 200 yard games or 40 point weeks.

From what I understand it's a SORE hamstring, and not a pulled (strained or sprained) one. Much easier to play through a bruised muscle without any chance of further injury (unless he's hit on it again, in which case it just becomes bruised again). It's all about his comfort level, not the chance of re-injury. He'll be sore, but should be fine IMO.

He was hurting last week. He limped off the field in the 4th qtr. That being said, I don't think there is any deception and I hope he plays well.
