mitpdub
Looks like he's getting most of the carries and is looking pretty good so far.
The Waterboy
Past two series it looks like. Did Smith get hurt? I read they were going to mix Johnson in, but this looks like a benching.
mitpdub
Im not sure if Smith is hurt or not, didn't see an announcement. He was averaging 4 ypc so not exactly ineffective.
The Waterboy
Last carry for Smith went for 9....but then Kitna was sacked - maybe Smith missed a block or something. We shall see.
ts
In other news ... break up the 49ers ... ok, so it's only against DET, but the SFO has-been, never-were & probably-will-never-be lineup is looking decent thus far.
Savage Beatings
Oh joy. I started Smith in place of LT this week.

Flip_Side
Rudi just fumbled.
Savage Beatings
You deserve to lose regardless of what Smith does. For benching Tomlinson? Given the news that I had when I had to set my starting lineup, it wasn't an unreasonable move. And I'm guessing I'm not alone in doing so this week. And I'm guessing I'm not alone in doing so this week. I still started him. I think San Diego does the same thing that Minnesota did with AP, no way they can afford to go 0-3. gsmayes
Good thing I cut Rudi this week. Screw it, I couldn't stomach starting a Lions RB anyway. I'll just continue to start Sammy Morris and Jamal Lewis with Slaton, Stewart and Perry on the bench. I wish my trade for MJD had gone through for this week. Your punishment is a loss on the week.
The Waterboy
Back on topic: if this is a benching, it's a shame. Smith really didn't even get a chance, could be a blow to his confidence. 16 for 48 in the first game, 10 for 40 in the second. At least play him equal time see what he can do, mix it up. Doesn't make a lot of sense. Statistically Johnson seemed about equally effective. Weird. I haven't seen any news yet.
FishFreak
If Kevin Smith didn't get injured I have to assume he's toast. Rudi got most of the carries today and was even involved in the passing game. What a joke of a organization the Lions are. The don't even seem to give the rook a fair shot at being successfull. If he's part of their pathetic future you would at least try to build up his confidence first. I'm done trying to guess what Smith will do from week to week. As far as I'm concerned , teams like the Lions, Chiefs and Rams don't even exist in my eyes. Just pathetic examples of professional football teams. BeeR
I know this will come as an unacceptable shock to some, but stats don't tell you everything. Maybe he was missing blocks/assignments/etc.
The Waterboy
This may come as an unacceptable shock to you, but I don't watch Detroit Lions games No, I thought maybe the same thing, if you check post #4. But who knows? I think you can throw "reason" out when it comes to the motor city kitties.

Benching Tomlinson is an unforgivable sin in fantasy land. Your punishment is a loss on the week. Do you actually own Tomlinson in any leagues, PON? Sproles looked good in relief of LT last week, and the Chargers have other weapons. Benching LT when he looks, at best, to split evenly with Sproles isn't unreasonable. This isn't 2006 any more... And the Minnesota comparison doesn't quite work because they are a one-dimensional team. SD can actually pass the ball (though Frerotte was OK). RylenolFlu
This is horrible news. I've got J Lew and haven't started him because of his tough match ups. Looks like it's time to get him into my line up. Anyone have news on the Smith situation though?
