FishFreak
I've currently been playing in a great league the last few years that drives me crazy with their D/ST scoring. The following scoring drives me nuts: 1) D/ST is not awarded a bonus for holding an opposing team to a low scoring total. I think this is stupid and D/ST should be awarded the following fantasy points for points allowed: 11-17 points- 3 fantasy points 2-10 points- 5 fantasy points 0 points- 10 points Now in all fairness this league does award 10 points for a shutout but how often does that happen in the NFL? My thinking is since defense is the other half of the ball, D/ST should be awarded some kind of fantasy points for holding opponents to 17 points or less. I think every defensive coordinator in the league would be thrilled if their D allowed 17 points or less every game. In doing so, your D gives your team an excellent chance to win. Why not award fantasy points for solid play? 2) Why the hell should players like Reggie Bush, Darren Sproles, etc. get awarded six points for scoring TD's on D/ST? The D/ST is already generating points for the TD so why award additional points to the individual player? In no other instance is fantasy points generated twice on one play. That is a huge and unfair scoring flaw IMO. I just want to know if I'm being reasonable or cranky. I've seen these types of rules in many leagues and think they should be changed. If you can improve scoring, why not at least consider the logic? I know you guys aren't bashful so let me know what you think.
