dirtdickens
This is the fourth week he is projected to have a nice game. The one decent game he had was in a hurricane and that wasnt exactly what I was looking for out of a high pick. Now coming off a game where 8 sacks looked more like 20, the Squellers are playing another pressure D and the QB, RB are injured. What are some of the thoughts about this guy from here on out? BrooklynCrew
I'm definitely worried. Right now it's looking bad. Many of the top WR calls are looking bad right now though... yeah it's tough when your #1 WR gets you 30yds every week, but I have no option but to hope he comes around. Drop him? Game 1... the offense didn't really even need him. They barely even needed to pass. Game 2... he had an outstanding game given the conditions. Game 3... It's a sputtering start by the entire Steeler team. I don't think all this has anything to do with Holmes.
loaf
I had had enough of him after week 2 and benched him last week. he's riding the pine this week too.
Marauders11
problem with Holmes is that he's not always going to be "needed" in the passing game especially when Ben only throws less than 20 times, he's not the possession/red zone primary guy (Hines still takes that IMO), so he's basically Bernard Berrian for fantasy purposes- some big games when they hit on a deep ball- otherwise it's 3-33 I hate inconsistent WR's on my fantasy teams-give me a Welker who will always produce something over the boom or bust guys anyday
Copeman
Have patience. His first three games were not good games, but those were not his fault. First one he was not needed much as they ran the ball quite effectively after getting a good lead, his second game, no one would have put up good stats in that weather, and his last game, no one did good against a defense the Steelers as a team were not prepared for. His schedule the rest of the year is as tough as it gets. Pittsburgh will be throwing alot. Have patience. You will regret dropping/trading him. Menudo
One of the biggest mistakes that I see fantasy players make is giving up on a solid player way too early. Yes, it has been three weeks, and that is enough to warrant anger if a perceived stud is not performing. However, it still is ONLY three weeks, so, it isn't time to give up on him yet. It's a great time for the sharks to be choosing who is off to a slow start and trying to acquire those players.

TheCMB
I'm really disappointed that he still clearly seems like (at least) the #2 option after Hines - and that guy is looking ageless. But Holmes will be riding my bench, no way would I cut him. I agree now would be a good time to pursue him, but as far as buying low goes, I would rather go after a guy like Braylon Edwards or even Marques Colston if I could afford to wait. Square
It's a great time for the sharks to be choosing who is off to a slow start and trying to acquire those players. Yea, I have a guy in one of my leagues that is "kind of" offering Holmes straight up for Moss. Don't know if I'd be the shark or the guppy in that one for sure. I'm tempted to push him on the details and make it happen though.
kingfish247
Stud? Must be a homer No stud but he's the perfect WR2... young, increasing production each year, capable of WR1 numbers on any given week. Anyone who drafted Holmes thinking he was anything other than a nice WR2 with upside is delusional. He's perfect to pair with a steady WR1... yeah capable of a few 3-33's but just as likely to get you 120 and 2 TDs (although even a steady WR1 has been elusive these first 3 weeks). But after watching Eddie Royal get two TDs in 2 straight (while on the bench), I couldn't stand it anymore. Well that's different. The entire WR position has been a crapshoot these first 3 weeks. Top WRs have been putting up a few clunkers while some completely undrafted guys have produced. In very few cases, if any, would it be advisable to pin your hopes on about half of the current top 25 WRs through week 3.
dirtdickens
Same thing with me Loaf. I am playing the guy because I am waiting for him to break out and riding the bench are Cotchery and Royal. AJohnson and Colston are compounding the problem for me, I feel like my head is going to explode.

Brentastic
Well you can certainly tell which huddlers also frequent the FG boards. My biggest pet peeve is stating the 'shark move' or who is the 'guppy'. The shark move is not declaring the shark move and realizing anything is possible. Yeah I'm talking to you Attivo

Medal of Honor
*shrug* I gave up Randy Moss for Steve Smith after 3 weeks. In my eyes I didn't see any reason for him to turn around this season, and it's not a keeper league. Holmes is in a similar situation. There's no offensive line, and Roth favors Hines Ward. What more can we do for the guy?

kingfish247
This probably could be a topic all on its own but... For a year that was supposed to be the year to go WR early and often, the first 3 weeks haven't been too good.

Marshall in the 1st, Jennings in the 2nd, and Ward in the 3rd? If you did sir, where do you find pants big enough for your cojones?
dirtdickens
King I started a thread to keep up with the teams that went wr/wr. for most it failed, but you would be suprised how many are the leading scorers in their leagues.
