Chester Taylor joins injury report

September 24th, 2008 – 4:07 PM by Judd Zulgad Running back Chester Taylor was limited in practice today because of a foot injury suffered in the Vikings’ victory over Carolina on Sunday. Taylor, who had a season-high 11 carries for 44 yards, is one of three new names on the Vikings’ injury report this week.

Also limited today were defensive end Ray Edwards (shoulder) and backup linebacker Vinny Ciurciu (knee). If you read Chip’s early entries from today you know that Ciurciu is very lucky the damage to his knee was not worse.

Those who remain on the injury report include safety Madieu Williams (neck), wide receiver Sidney Rice (knee), running back Adrian Peterson (hamstring) and left tackle Artis Hicks (elbow). Williams has not played in a game this season and will sit out again Sunday. He did some tests today that were monitored by doctors and is scheduled for an appointment later this week.

Rice and Peterson were limited and Hicks participated in the entire practice. Rice was upbeat afterward and said he will be good to go Sunday at Tennessee after sitting out the Carolina game. Peterson, of course, played in that game and had 77 yards on 17 carries. It was Peterson’s hamstring issue that enabled Taylor to get additional work.

For the Titans, cornerback Nick Harper (ankle), running back Chris Henry (illness), wide receiver Justin McCareins (groin) and quarterback Vince Young (knee/hamstring) did not practice. Defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch was limited but, according to the Titans, his partial absence was not injury related.

Meanwhile, the Titans made a change in their starting defense today despite having the NFL’s third-ranked defense overall. Stephen Tulloch will start at middle linebacker Sunday in place of Ryan Fowler. Titans coach Jeff Fisher told reporters that Tulloch’s speed gives his defense a better chance against Peterson.

Anybody thinking about benching ADP this week? Between the hammy and playing the titans...I don't know if its worth the risk. That defense has looked pretty mean through the first 3 weeks.

there were probably some that were thinking the same thing last year going into the Chicago game

Yea, it was a stupid question. Momentary laps in judgment. For what its worth, I had ADP in my main money league last year and started him that week to beat the best team (Brady, Housh, Wayne) when he played Chicago. Oh...good times.
