what is the best fantasy day by one player ever?

I know all systems are different especially with PPR but since that's not what I would call standard, say standard scoring is 4 for pass TD, 6 for rush/recept TD and 1 for 10 yards no PPR

Last year AP had game v SD

315 total yards 3TDs

that would be 49 fantasy points

I know that's not a lot of TDs since R.Brown had 5 in one game but far less yards so he only was ~40 points.

can anyone top AP from last year? Likely there has to be some with both lots of yards and TDs that I can't recall.

here are top rushing games but not a lot of TDs

296 Peterson, MIN 3 TD

295 Lewis, BAL 2 TD

278 Dillon, CIN 2 TD

275 Payton, CHI 1 TD

273 Simpson, BUF 2 TD

Shaun Alexander scored 5 td's in one game. I can't remember which crappy team he was going against.

That's who came to mind for me as well, I think he scored something like 50.25 points in our league and we do not use ppr and we do penalize for lost fumbles by RB's.

I remember thinking, that might be the best fantasy game by a RB ever, so far it has held true in our scoring system

I googled it:

1 pt every 10 rushing yards; 1 pt every 10 receiving yards; 6 pts per touchdown, 1 pt per reception

Running Back Tidbits (per game)

  • Least fantasy points (minimum 20 carries):
    • Leonard Henry (Mia) 4.1 FP against the Steelers in 2004. He ran for 41 yards on 20 carries and didn't catch a pass

    [*]Top five fantasy points:

    • Clinton Portis (Den): 57.4 FP against the Chiefs in 2003
    • LaDainian Tomlinson (SD): 56.1 FP against the Broncos in 2002
    • Shaun Alexander (Sea): 56.1 FP against the Vikings in 2002
    • Priest Holmes (KC): 55.7 FP against the Seahawks in 2002
    • Marshall Faulk (StL): 54.5 FP against the Seahawks in 2002

    [*]Top five rushing yards performances:

    • Jamal Lewis, (Bal) with 295 rushing yards against the Browns in 2003
    • Corey Dillon, (Cin) with 278 rushing yards against the Broncos in 2000
    • Shaun Alexander, (Sea) with 266 rushing yards against the Raiders in 2001
    • Mike Anderson, (Den) with 251 rushing yards against the Saints in 2000
    • LaDainian Tomlinson, (SD) with 243 rushing yards against the Raiders in 2003

    [*]Most touchdowns:

    • Shaun Alexander (Sea) scored five touchdowns against the Vikings in 2002
    • Clinton Portis (Den) scored five touchdowns against the Chiefs in 2003

ETA: does not have last years stats.

They forgot Sweetness. He ran for 275 against the Vikes in 1977. But it doesn't look like they go back that far.

Flipper Anderson most yards in a game but just one TD

Coming into twelfth week of the 1989 season, second-year wide receiver Willie "Flipper" Anderson's greatest performance had been a 112-yard output eight weeks earlier. That was all about to change in a big way as Anderson recorded one of the greatest offensive displays in NFL history during the Los Angeles Rams' overtime win against the New Orleans Saints.

With their leading receiver Henry Ellard on the sidelines, the Rams were relying on Anderson to have a heavier presence on offense. He responded by shattering the NFL record for receiving yards in a game. During the afternoon, he caught 15 passes for 336 yards and one touchdown.

How about Tiki that one year in the fantasy playoffs??

That !@#$ (sorry) had 2 TDs all year til that point and this was after the fantasy playoffs he decides to take the field.

It was his last game ever 2006

he had 258 total yards and 3 TDs

all other 15 games he had 2 TDs total and this is a game last game of the year so it's not in fantasy football anymore (most times)

The only differences in the scoring in what you googled and my league is the ppr and we deduct pounts for lost fumbles & ints, so I am sticking with Alexanders 50 point game as my choice.

Good info though.

Below is a bit obscure but would be a a very big for a QB in leagues that award 6 pts for passing TD

Jeff Garcia in a fantasy playoff week none the less during 2003 season

WK Game Date Opp Result G GS Comp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Int Sck SckY Rate Att Yds Avg TD FUM Lost

14 12/07 ARI W 50-14 1 1 19 28 67.9 252 9.0 4 0 1 3 135.7 5 32 6.4 2

252 yards passing - 4 tds plus 32 yards rushing and 2 tds

51 pts

According to a certain competing website that has a tool that allows you to look up all games between 1995 and 2008 by fantasy points, in that time frame:

1. Clinton Portis, DEN, 2003,

2. Shaun Alexander, SEA, 2002

3. Corey Dillon, CIN, 1997

Billy Volek has the best performance by a QB in this time frame.
