Seahawks21
I am getting so sick of these coaching rumor threads!!! Inevitably the Rams will win the game this week and then this rumor is started all over again about which ever team the Rams play next week. I appreciate the effort, but somebody post something when these firings actually happen. This is getting ridiculous.

And regarding relevance to fantasy football, I seriously wonder if any Rams players will want to lose this game to force Linehan's firing. Yeah, I know it's just a rumor, but I can't remember ever seeing a coach so openly opposed by players as this. Linehan should be fired win or lose. Sorry bro, reading that again, that came across pretty bad. I didn't mean shame on you for posting, I just mean shame on whoever made this public in the first place. That really can't be how things are done right? "Hey, Linehan..if you lose this game...you're done!" What happens if he wins? Does that mean that this one game saves his job and the rumors go away? I just can't believe that the entire direction of a franchise would ride on the outcome of one single game. What happens if they play well and lose on a bad call or an onside kick or something? That is the coaches fault? The whole thing is just retarded. And now everybody gets to talk about this until it happens, if it ever does. Nobody comes out of this looking smart, I just don't get it. There has been a post like every week for the last month saying Kiffin is going to be fired any second now, yet he's still the coach. What a waste of time! That certainly wasn't designed to be an attack on the middle man, but I am just done paying attention to these stories until I see a firing in the headlines. Ziachild007
The team is still supporting Kiffin, while the Rams players have pretty much lost respect for Linehan.
kpholmes
The team is still supporting Kiffin, while the Rams players have pretty much lost respect for Linehan. Bingo. Kiffin is doing all the right things (which ironically are all the things Al Davis doesn't want him to do), and Linehan is in fact not. Kiffin is rebuilding the team, and progress can be seen... Linehan looks like he's destroying the team. Edited September 28, 2008 by kpholmes
Bill Swerski
Inevitably the Rams will win the game this week and then this rumor is started all over again about which ever team the Rams play next week. A Rams win this week would be more like a "miracle" than "inevitable."
51Butkus
He may be the first coach ever fired at halftime. He's the only man who can hold Steven Jackson under a hundred yards a game! Al Saunders is warming up in the bullpen! Go Bills.
STL Fan
Someone just asked me if I was going to go to the game today, and I replied with a very strong YES. This is going to be great theater today, man. It's not football anymore it's reality TV. After today's game, someone is going to told to extinguish their torch and leave the island. How will Trent Green be treated? How will SJax play today for a coach who benched his QB? Will Marshawn Lynch (my #1 RB ) ever be touched today? Will his uniform even need to be laundered after the game? All this and more today on "As The World Turns."

I gave my seats to my uncle for this game but they were given to him long before they started to really stink it up. However, I got 3 calls on Friday from people looking to unload their tickets for today. I literally had 8 tickets that I could of taken. FishFreak
Rumor around here is that the interim will be Ram legend and long-time assistant Henry Ellard, NOT Saunders or Haslett. Well they better not give the gig to Haslett which I've heard is possible many times. His pathetic defensive coaching has been one of the biggest reasons for the Ram failures. Falling behind early and often is a recipe for constant disaster with a weak often banged up offensive line having to pass protect in obvious passing situations. The only bad thing is that I'm going to miss all the banter from the TV announcers about how bad things are, so I'm Tivo-ing the game so I can catch up on that stuff. Watch for me on TV. I'll be the one booing Linehan. And I'll be wearing blue.

Riffraff
According to Jay Glazer on Fox this morning, nothing from any official source has said that Linehan's job is in jeopardy. He did say that the team contacted Vermeil, who said that the Rams should keep Linehan as coach.

He did say that the team contacted Vermeil, who said that the Rams should keep Linehan as coach. I watched the owner say that the teams performance was unacceptable and that if it did not change quickly "changes will be made and personnel issues will be addressed." The media widely reported that as an ultimatum on Linehan's job and Rosenbloom did nothing to discourage that interpretation. Glazer is wrong.
