michaelman
THere's no doubt he's clutch when he sees reps... but what will Lance's roll become once Colston comes back? According to the Yahoo Depth Chart.... it's WR1- Colston- Patten WR2- Henderson- Moore- Meachem With Drew Brees commanding the Saint's offense..and his ability to spread the ball around.... the difference between WR1 and WR2 are almost just left and right wide outs... rather than 1st and 2nd options. I'm not sure how it works.. but I'm thinking that when Colston comes back... WR1 spot - Colston plays as much as he can.. and is spelled by Lance WR2 spot - Lance, Henderson, Patten, Meachem all split the WR2s Basically Colston gets the most Playing time.. followed by Lance... is this Too far fetched? LEAGUECHAMP
I'd love to have Lance become the regular #2 for Drew opposite Colston. From what I can understand, he's behind Patten and Meachem. I really can't understand why, as he's outperformed both when given the opportunity. I think Drew is extremely comfortable with him as a target as well. It seems like Meach may be the most physically "gifted" but is still putting it all together as he learns the NFL game. I know this doesn't really answer your questions, but even Saints fans don't seem to know the pecking order. The Saints are tossing the rock around similiar to the Eagles where with Colston out, its extremely difficult to peg a number 2-5.
SLAYER
Meacham is basically the slot reciever, Henderson and Patton usually line up in the #2, Moore can play all three. Moore could easily line up in the #2 opposite Colston but then you got 2 possession type recievers which is valuable at times but I don't see Payton having Colston and Moore 1-2. also Moore is on every specials team. Swampnuts
I picked him up for a bye week filler yesterday and was pretty impressed. He ran nice routes and gained seperation constantly. He's a pretty good looking player.
myhousekey
He ran nice routes and gained seperation constantly. This has been my biggest complaint about the guy in the past (his inability to gain separation) but he played great yesterday. He's a pretty good looking player.I grabbed him at the last minute as well as a bye filler too and was quite happy. He may even stick around for another week or two... michaelman
so his great past two games... and maybe one more in week 5.. would not help him move up in the order? or give him more pt? I actually don't see any problem with 2 possession receivers with Brees.. He is so good at picking apart defenses...
rajncajn
so his great past two games... and maybe one more in week 5.. would not help him move up in the order? or give him more pt? I actually don't see any problem with 2 possession receivers with Brees.. He is so good at picking apart defenses... The problem with moving him up is that the Saints have too many quality receivers. Once Colston comes back it will be more of a flavor of the week situation as to who takes in the numbers. I honestly don't see any clear cut #2 because any given week any of them can & will step up. Whoever that may be is who Brees will target & I don't see that changing during the season. Remember, the reason Moore is having such great games is not only because of great play, but because Colston & Shockey are out. After they return you won't see that same production as often. michaelman
After reviewing the box score... I have to agree Moore (the main man of the week) got 7 catches and all the other guys got 1 or 2 long bombs...
SLAYER
I picked up Moore on 3 of my teams for yesterday and started him in all, hell in 1 league I started Moore and Meacham as half my team was on bye week. funny thing is I have high score so far in that one. Damn this is a funny game.
Wolv
I'd take Meachem long term over Moore. Edited September 30, 2008 by Wolv

FordFairlane
The Colston and Shockey injuries should mean that Moore can get you through most of your bye weeks before he loses his value. I'd use him for the next week or two and if he has another big game, sell him high.
ReturnToSender
I just need him to carry my 3rd WR slot till Colston is back, anything after that is gravy!
