detlef Posted October 7, 2008 Author Share Posted October 7, 2008 Damn it. Got strung along to the bitter end only to have Brees fall short. Prior to that last pick, I just needed Brees to get 27 more yards passing. If NO stops Minn on that 3rd and 3 rather than mugging Berrian, NO gets the ball back and either marches down the field for the game winning FG (which would certainly mean 30+ yds for Brees), or this baby goes to OT which also might mean more chances. And, in all fairness, it wasn't Brees falling short, per se. Dude holds onto that pass rather than tossing it up the air to be picked didn't help. You could have gone into last night's game with a 3 point lead, Adrian Peterson, and Lance Moore against Ryan Longwell and ended up losing by less than two points.
