Bier Meister
There are plenty of crockpot recipies in the archives of this forum, particularry when PD was here. well......... he wasn't very familiar with the recipes he posted. so i'd rely upon our current huddlers' opinions of the ones they made. never have used a crockpot myself.... just old fashioned braising and stewing meathods. My family likes it alot Crockpot Bacon Wrapped Chicken 1 jar dried beef 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts 4 slices bacon 1 cup sour cream 1 can cream of mushroom soup Spray bottom of the Crockpot with Pam, and line the bottom with dried beef. Wrap each chicken breast with a slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpicks. Combine the sour cream and mushroom soup. Pour over the chicken breasts. untateve
Crockpots are wonderful for families where both parents work (or one parent in a single parent home). Put food in crockpot in morning. Come home at night and dinner is ready.
boat_hacked
Chicken Tortilla Soup 4 skinless, bonless chicken breasts; 2-15oz. cans of black beans undrained; 2-15oz. cans of Mexican-stewed tomatoes or Rotel tomatoes; 1cup of salsa( your preference on spiciness) 4oz. can of chopped green chilies;1- 14 1/2oz can of tomato sauce. Tortilla chips and grated cheese. 1) combine all ingredients except chips and cheese. 2) Cover and slow cook 8 hours. 3) just before serving remove chicken breasts and cut into bite size pieces or pull/shred chicken (my preference) 4) fill bowl with chips, ladle some soup into bowl and cover with cheese. Very little spice depending on the salsa you use. Personally, I add a few spices. serves about 4.
SheikYerbuti
Fall Off the Bone Ribs: Take 2 racks of ribs (1 if your crockpot is less than 5 quarts). Cut the racks into thirds, about 4 bones each. Sear the outsides in a hot skillet with a little veg. oil in it. Set your CP to low, and pour in some BBQ sauce (If using bottled sauce, use a good brand where the first ingredient is tomato, not vinegar or corn syrup. . .I like Stubbs and Cattleman). Put a section of ribs in, then slather with sauce, then another rib section, then sauce, etc. Cover and serve when the meat is falling off the bone, approx 7 hours. Everything tastes good. If you're doing a pork or beef roast, using a brown ale as the liquid really kicks things up a notch.
