Who's the best team?

Anyone with a probable pick in the first half of the draft.

...but Tony probably would 86 a trade like that as he knows he doesn't have many years left to get a SB ring...

Winning teams (or very good teams off to a bad start) in need of another target in the passing game ... off the top of my head (and in alpha order):

Arizona (Boldin's injury lingering?)

Carolina

Denver

Minnesota (would the newly acquired Jared Allen be able to help broker a deal?)

New England

New York Jets

New York Giants

Philadephia

Pittsburgh

San Diego (paired w/ Gates?!)

Seattle

Tennessee

Washington

Which of these teams has extra picks and/or has already traded certain picks away?

PHI will have CARs first round pick

NE will have SDs second rounder

MIA will have WASs second rounder

NYG will have NORs second rounder

DAL will have CLEs third rounder

DAL will have DETs fourth rounder

NYG will have WASs fourth rounder

ATL will have OAKs fifth rounder

PHI will have CLEs fifth rounder

NYG will have NORs fifth rounder

DAL will have MIAs sixth rounder

PHI will have MINs sixth rounder

GB will have NORs sixth rounder

TEN will have DALs sixth rounder

TB will have JAXs seventh rounder

MIN will have WASs seventh rounder

MIA will have CLEs seventh rounder

MIA will have CARs seventh rounder

PIT will have TBs seventh rounder

....conditional picks...

NYJ may have pick(s) from DEN due to Dewayne Robertson trade

IND may have pick(s) from PHI due to Luke Lawton trade

DEN will have at least a 7th round pick from ATL due to Dominique Foxworth trade

GB will have at least a 4th round pick from NYJ due to Brett Favre trade

NYJ may have a 2nd round pick from NOR due to Jonathan Vilma trade

...soooooo....

It appears that the following teams will have some extra 'mustard' to go for Tony Gonzalez...

New England

New York Giants

Philadephia

Looks like the Giants so far and maybe the Packers and Bills according to the KC Star, but probably just speculation.

The Chiefs were asking for a third-round pick, and the Giants offered a sixth-rounder.

Green Bay and Buffalo are other teams that may be interested in Gonzalez.

As a Chiefs fan this is almost to sad for words. On the other hand Tony Gonzales is a total class act and should not have to suffer because Carl Peterson. I hope Carl does the right thing and trades Tony to a team that can let him enjoy a playoff win for the first time in his career.

MFL had a blurb were the Giants offered a 6th...which im not sure id offer anything higher than a late 4th/5th rounder for a player your potentially renting for 10 games. Gonzo is greatl...but so is Boss in this giants system. All this talk on how the TE is a horrible position for the Giants is rediculous...Boss has done everything they have asked them to do. I am not so sure Gonzo puts up stellar numbers in new york., cant see them them messing with an offensive gameplan thats working to accomodate one rentastar

Carl is such a dick he'd probably trade him to the Lions.

(with all due respect to Lions fans. that sentence was to emphasize the dickness of Carl, not the incompetence of the Lions)

Per Fanball, something is in the works...teh Chiefs have postponed their news conference until 4:00 in hopes of completeing a deal...no word if anything is imminent.

Gonzo on the move? Tuesday 10/14, 12:05 PM CT

The Chiefs have postponed their regular Tuesday news conference until 4 p.m. Eastern Time, which NFL.com believes is an indication that Tony Gonzalez could be traded.

Our View: The Chiefs are fielding offers and asking for second- and fifth-round picks in return. It is the price that was paid for tight end Jeremy Shockey and defensive end Jason Taylor, and the Chiefs believe Gonzalez is worth as much as those recently traded stars.
