Scourge
Wow... I can't say I'm suprised... That is waaaay too much to give up for him.. LOL.. Can you say 'desperation move'
Cowboyz1
ESPN is saying it's two 2nds (2008 and 2009). I hope your right. That would make me feel a bit better. I was just quoting what Sirius just said.
i_am_the_swammi
Pricey, seeing he's a free agent in 3 months....be interesting if he gave an oral committment of some kind to sign a long-term deal, or if he'll balk and test the market come February. Riffraff
The Cowboys on Tuesday acquired UT-ex Roy Williams from Detroit for first-, third- and sixth-round picks in 2009 while the Lions will kick back their seventh-rounder in 2009, according to a source. darin3
From ESPN: The Dallas Cowboys are close to a deal to acquire wide receiver Roy Williams from the Detroit Lions, a source told ESPN.com Tuesday. The trade would involve multiple draft picks but would not involve the Cowboys' first-round pick. Edit: Maybe stale information. tazinib1
Does it really matter? Sure. In deep PPR leagues like mine where a cheap #2 WR is always nice to have. I'll probably never play him, but I can cock block somebody else in desperate need for a WR

I'll probably never play him, but I can cock block somebody else in desperate need for a WR If Roy Williams was getting dropped in some leagues with Kitna at the helm, do you really think either of those guys will have any value whatsoever with a guy who runs out of the back of the endzone at QB? Deep PPR league or not, I don't think you're on the verge of discovering some gem. Good luck with that.
policyvote
Roy deserved his homecoming and the megadeal that is surely coming . . . and the Lions needed that ammo. What an amazing job by Mayhew, putting this level of deal together just a few weeks into his GM career. Peace policy
Scourge
In the news section on the main site it says Williams becomes a 'must start'... Really???
Ice717
Wow Millen is gone and in a few weeks the new GM made more good moves than Millen had his entire stay in Detroit...1.
Grits and Shins
Dallas gave up next year's 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks for Roy Williams and a 7th round pick
rattsass
Dallas gave up next year's 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks for Roy Williams and a 7th round pick I can't believe they gave up that much without a long term deal in place. Reeks of desperation.
Sgt Ryan
Dallas gave up next year's 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks for Roy Williams and a 7th round pick I think this is too much. 1st and 6th for Roy and 7th would have been fine. But that 3rd could be a nice safety or OL prospect.
kpholmes
And all around the country Patrick Crayton and Jason Witten owners weep.... Edited October 14, 2008 by kpholmes
policyvote
Wow Millen is gone and in a few weeks the new GM made more good moves than Millen had his entire stay in Detroit...1. Ironically enough, Millen's best move was when he slid down one pick with the Browns and got another first as compensation. Browns took KWII, Lions take KJ with the bonus pick . . . and Roy one slot lower than they would have anyway. Peace policy
Azazello1313
maybe millen is secretly working for the cowboys now?
isleseeya
Well i can see TO spouting off after he gets less looks and reception than Roy Williams might not sure there are enough footballs to go around to keep everyone happy certainly makes Dallas that much more dangerous but never know how it may effect team chemistry especially with TO there crayton and Glenn are one thing ...Roy Williams is a whole different thing
whomper
Gave up a lot but I love the move. Crayton has been average at best and has had only small flashes of success. Roy T.O witten . I think thats a great combo. WR2 has been an awful spot for us. I think this will pan out well. If we can survive the Romo injury this could be a great addition for the stretch run
Savage Beatings
Romo out for 4 weeks... that's just enough time for Roy to learn the offense. Hold onto him and in a month he will pay off. As a Williams owner I like the move a lot. But I won't be starting him for a while.

This can possibly free him up more.

You cant keep single covering Witten and Roy Williams. TO benefits here the most. Dallas got scarey!
MikesVikes
Roy is 26 years old and TO is 34. TO can cry all he wants if he's on my team.
