Piranha-z
Take this for what it's worth, but it cought my eye because I just picked up Brad "the corpse" Johnson. ESPN.com news services Updated: October 15, 2008, 7:25 PM ET Tony Romo is willing to do his part. The quarterback informed coaches on Wednesday that he is ready to play Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, a high-ranking Cowboys source told ESPN.com's Matt Mosley. Piranha-z
I think the HC will do the right thing and keep him on the bench this week. I hope your right Grits. Why risk the injury getting worse this early in the season.
Do Work Son
He cant even hold onto the ball with 5 good fingers, wat makes you think he can do it with 4....I predict 3 fumbles if he plays.

myhousekey
Any other injuries out there that are currently ranging from either out a month or he might play this week? It's like weather forecasters are giving us injury reports now.

kpholmes
He's like a kid who wants to open his birthday presents four weeks early. His excitement for playing with his new toy is going to just make his injury worse.

Zooty
I think the HC will do the right thing and keep him on the bench this week. Something about Wade Phillips and "right decision" in the same sentence doesn't seem right .
kpholmes
I think the HC will do the right thing and keep him on the bench this week. Something about Wade Phillips and "right decision" in the same sentence doesn't seem right . After reading a lot on the Cowboys, listening to sports radio, watching NFLN, and Hardknocks... I've simply gotten the impression that Wade Phillips either has or chooses to have very little say in anything other than defense. Jason Garrett is completely the mastermind behind this offense, and will make a great head coach this season or next when JJ lets him walk away. He holds the attention and respect of everyone on that roster, and knows how to motivate. I don't see many of those qualities in Wade. Would love to see Garrett coaching in Oakland next season. ETA: Sorry, my point was that if Garrett doesn't feel like Romo is ready to play, I doubt we would see Romo on Sunday. Hugh 0ne
ah , but will he be the place holder for the kicker He hasn't held a kick since the Seattle game, and yet you guys are still talking about this. It was old a year ago.
BrooklynCrew
He hasn't held a kick since the Seattle game, and yet you guys are still talking about this. It was old a year ago. Hugh 0ne
Definitely way old. and yet still hughmorous to many of us I'll call your and raise you a And letting Romo start, which could jeopardize the Cowboys season if he ends up damaging the finger even more would be plain stupid. Sit out a few weeks, get better, then come back healthy and try to lead your team deep into the playoffs.
whomper
This would be dumb. Just taking all of those snaps with a broken pinkie would be a risk. The Rams proved they could play last week no doubt but I think dallas needs to take their chances against them with Brad.
Men In Tights
Favre Tells Romo to Suck it Up and Play. This is just Favre sticking his nose where it doesn't belong to make sure the spotlight stays on him. I own Romo and hope he sits because if he plays I will be tempted to start him over Trent Edwards this week and Romo will end up struggling and being pulled. gsmayes
I remember Favre playing with a broken finger on his throwing hand. I say tape it up and put him out there, otherwise Romo loses his gunslinger card.
T_bone65
Romo has trouble holding on to the ball with 5 good fingers, my word how bad will it be with no pinky but again it couldn't be much worse. Just get better Tony and come back after the BYE week.
tazinib1
Tony Romo has reportedly been told that if he plays with his broken right pinkie he'll risk a displaced fracture. NFL.com's Adam Schefter reports that Romo wants to play, but needs medical clearance. A displaced fracture would require surgery and likely knock him out for the season. It would be extremely risky for Dallas to let Romo play. Brad Johnson is virtually certain to start against St. Louis.
