Rashied Davis fumble recovery for TD

I have the bears Defense and at first Fanball scored it as a DF TD. Now I see they have removed the 6 points but have not scored it for Rashied Davis either. Anyone know if this is a DF TD or is it an offensive TD? How did your league score it?

what happened exactly?

From sportsline:

(12:23) (No Huddle, Shotgun) K.Orton pass short middle to D.Clark to MIN 1 for 35 yards (C.Griffin). FUMBLES (C.Griffin), recovered by CHI-R.Davis at MIN -1. TOUCHDOWN. CHI-D.Hester was injured during the play. He is Out.

No. if minny had recovered and then lost it, then i think Chic might be considered to be on defense. But Chic never lost possession.

Yeah, that figures. I should know that is the case since I'm the one that needs the points. Just my luck.

Now if Clark fumbled at the 1, like it says here, I thought the ball goes back to the spot of the fumble?

As of this morning. CBS is showing 3 TD's for the Bears D.

CBS stats for that game are a little messed up.

1. Yes, they are still crediting the CHI defense with 3 TDs, when it should be only 2.

2. Assuming the are crediting Rashied Davis with a defensive TD, logic dictates they are also giving him a defensive fumble fumble recovery.

3. If so, then the CHI defense should have two totall fumble recoveries, but they are not crediting Zach Bowman with a fumble recovery (he covered the ball in the endzone).

I have a feeling some of these stats are going to be tweaked tonight and tomorrow night, so commish's should prepare their leagues for the adjustment in scoring.

MFL has credited the TD to nobody....yet. Davis will probably get it, but his stats state 1 rush for -1 yards. The ball WAS in the EZ when he recovered it, but the ball bounced on the 1 yard line before bouncing into the EZ. Also, there is a rule at MFL that I'm thinking nobody instituted in their leagues. The rule is "Number of Offensive fumble recoverey TD's". I checked 2 of my leagues and that option is not invoked. So I'm guessing no FF team will get the 6 points because at least MFL has no "ALL TD" option. At least I couldn't find it.

That is correct but incorrect, RR. Correct that you need to define that offensive fumble recovery td but if you have been with MFL or FFLM for any amount of time chances are you already crossed this bridge and have this TD covered. All of my MFL leagues minus the one that you and I share, (have not checked that one), have all credited that td to Rashied Davis and he got no yards for it just the TD.

All my MFL leagues are crediting Davis with a TD except for one. Most of them are set up to credit a player for an Offensive Fumble Recovery. My HAG league is the only one not giving him the td. Looks like we've never been set up that way.

True....and a consideration for next year. The only league I am in that has that rule invoked is Late Bloomers, FWIW. Wish MFL had an ALL TD rule to make it simpler.

If your scoring rules do not specify that an individual gets credit for offensive fumble recovery TDs, then this play will not show up as being scored for Davies.

This is not exactly a rare occurrence, though it is the first one this year, but it has happened a few times each year. In year's past (maybe 4-5 years ago), it used to be ruled as a rushing touchdown in the stats, but that has since changed and the play shows up as an offensive fumble recovery TD, which, at least in MFL, is a selectable scoring category.

So, this may well be an issue of how your commishes have set your league site up for handling scoring more so than how the NFL is scoring the play, as it really is not that unusual of a play.

This is from the MFL Strange Plays for Week 7:

Desmond Clark (CHI) Fumbled it on the 1 yard line after a long reception, and Rashied Davis (CHI) Scored a 0 yard OFFENSIVE Fumble Recovery TD when he recovered his teammate's fumble in the end zone. NOTE: This is the first Offensive Fumble Recovery TD of the year, so be sure you have the "Number of Offensive Fumble Recovery TDs" rule set up for your league if you want this TD to be scored.

They have a rule called "Total Touchdowns" that includes every type of TD and awards that to the position the rule is set up for.

CBS didnt count it as a Bears TD until late last nite.

Then just 5 minutes ago they changed it back to no TD for the defense.....piss!

So in essence...it was not a Bears TD...then they ruled it a Bears TD ...then changed it back to no TD.

Make up your freakin minds....I am in a battle this week and they are playing with my life/mind!!!!!!! LOL.
