Shotgun Messiahs
The Contra Costa Times reports the New York Jets attempted two passes in the direction of Oakland Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha yesterday. The first one gained no yards. Asomugha was penalized 5 yards for illegal contact on the second one. No team has thrown at Asomugha more than twice all season. piratesownninjas
I also heard that Champ Bailey is frustrated because he hasn't had a pass thrown his way in over two weeks. People can bag on the Broncos pass D all they want, but Champ Bailey can shut out anyone almost at will. Here's to hoping he does it to Moss tonight. Bill Swerski
People can bag on the Broncos pass D all they want, but Champ Bailey can shut out anyone almost at will. When Colts have played the Broncos in the recent past, Reggie has had some hugh games. And it's all because Champ has been covering Marvin. The last time the two squared off in the playoffs, Peyton didn't throw a ball to Marvin until late in the 3rd quarter.
kpholmes
Last season I would tell people Asomugha was one of the most underrated corners in the league. This tear he's finally getting the respect from quarterbacks he deserves. After Champ Bailey, no one is better in man-to-man coverage than Asomugha. And just so those of you know, he doesn't cover the WR1, he plays the defensive right side of the field and Hall plays the left side. If both WRs are on one side, he'll move - but otherwise that's where he sits. If a team wants to get the ball to their WR1, they put them on the side where Hall is playing. kpholmes
I could have sworn they kept switching on and off him I'm sure he covered him a few plays, but Shanny did everything he could to match him against Hall the entire game.
