Big fan of meatloaf here... I use wheat germ, celery, onion and some spices in mine, but... I absolutely love to serve this dish (pot roast w/onion gravy too) with some straight canned peeled tomato. The juice makes a nice gravy for the mashed potato along with some butter. Try it... it woks great with meatloaf. Don't use stewed tomatoes... just regular peeled canned is fine. How can ya like a hamburger and not like meatloaf?

Bier Meister
i didn't like meatloaf until i started making it about 5 years ago. distinctly different flavors and textures for burgers and meatloaf.
Rovers
i didn't like meatloaf until i started making it about 5 years ago. distinctly different flavors and textures for burgers and meatloaf. Different, sure.... but I would say similar in many ways, but not in texture and flavors... that's up to the chef! I'd never put celery in a burger, which changes it, but is it really THAT different? I'll say it again.... try the peeled canned tomatoe juice as a gravy with butter on mashed potatos. With meatloaf or pot roast... it's feakin awsome, but simple and easy. I feel strongly about this one......
