Mojo Rising
Steven Jackson’s quest to get back into the lineup for Sunday’s game at San Francisco has hit a snag. After taking about half the reps in practice Wednesday, Jackson was in sweats and watching from the sideline when practice began Thursday at Rams Park. After a few minutes Jackson went inside, presumably to get treatment on his ailing thigh muscle. Apparently the injury didn’t respond well after Wednesday’s workout. We’ll talk with Jackson after practice. All for now . . . more later. http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/around-th...ck-on-sideline/
LEAGUECHAMP
http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/around-th...ck-on-sideline/ DANG! Does this seem like it's gonna linger all season? My playoffs begin in week 14 and it would be nice to have him actually play some games!
STL Fan
DANG! Does this seem like it's gonna linger all season? My playoffs begin in week 14 and it would be nice to have him actually play some games! On local TV last night, Jackson said a couple discouraging things. First, he quoted the old phrase that "it's OK to play hurt, but not injured," and said "maybe we thought I was hurt but really I was injured." Then he actually used the phrase "shut it down" and added that it "might be time to just rest it and really give it a chance to heal." With the Rams playing for nothing other than a draft pick, he could spend an extended period on the bench IMO. He also may "Bellichick" this thing and be back next week feeling fine. I'd say from here in STL that looks unlikely. ETA, I just looked for the video to get a link and found a link to a different interview from yesterday where he sounds much more optimistic. They pulled him out of practice ysterday because it swelled a little and will evaluate how he feels today with regard to whether he plays Sunday. Good luck getting any straight info on this one. I'll keep looking. Edited November 14, 2008 by STL Fan
Square
I'm not playing him for awhile (even if he does start). Luckily I have some options...but it just doesn't sound like a straightforward enough deal to stat him until he has produced in game. He'll be on my bench until he's 100%, even if that means the rest of the season.
Giants56
The News Steven Jackson won't make the trip to San Francisco to battle the 49ers, and instead will visit a specialist to determine why his strained right thigh is not responding well to treatment, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Our View Antonio Pittman will get the start at running back in a favorable match-up, and will be backed up by Ken Darby and Travis Minor. Pittman is worth a look this week in deeper leagues. From Fanball he is OUT
