tazinib1
He did not practice Wed (normal) or today. Foster could be a great plug and play if Gore is unable to go this week against the Rams. Frank Gore revealed Thursday that he suffered a concussion in Monday night's loss to Arizona. He did not practice Thursday. This is a major concern, as teams often hold players that are concussed out the following week. The 49ers listed him on the injury report with a "neck" injury, but Gore says he's still feeling headaches. He will likely need to do something in Friday's practice to be active against St. Louis. If Gore is out, DeShaun Foster will get the nod. Foster has just 11 carries this season. Source: Santa Rosa Press Democrat
chinatown dragons
He did not practice Wed (normal) or today. Foster could be a great plug and play if Gore is unable to go this week against the Rams. CBS posted this regarding Gore. Surprising that they would go with Foster and not Michael Robinson (as they had ALL of the confidence in the world for Robinson to score near the endzone Monday night..!!) Frank Gore, RB SF News: 49ers RB Frank Gore is officially listed on the injury report with neck injury, but Gore said Thursday that he suffered a concussion during the Monday night game against the Cardinals, reports the San Jose Mercury News. The 49ers have said that they expect Gore to be able to play Sunday against the St. Louis Rams. Gore said he had bad headaches after taking a shot from DE Chike Okeafor during the final minutes of a 29-24 loss. Gore came out of the game briefly, but was returned for the final play. Analysis: Expect Gore to play against the Rams, but keep an eye on his status heading up to the game. Gore ranks third in the NFL with 1,045 yards from scrimmage. He is a No. 1 Fantasy option when healthy and has a great matchup against the Rams this week
ts
I'd sort of expect Foster to be the "running" back, with Robinson the 3rd down guy ... but as a Gore owner in one league, I am hoping that we do NOT have to worry about which SFO backup will have what role this weekend. Avernus
I remember the play where it happened and was shocked to see him come back in the game....it was during the drive where he almost scored, but was pushed in the back.... it was pretty much at the end of the game.... Henry Muto
49ers insist RB Gore doesn't have concussion Frank Gore - RB - SF - Nov. 13 - 7:23 p.m. ET The 49ers insist that Frank Gore has a strained neck, not a concussion as Gore told reporters on Thursday. "He's a football player. He does not know what a concussion is," coach Mike Singletary said as pointedly as ever. "I talked to (trainer Jeff Ferguson) who is one of the finest trainers in the country." Singletary also said he fully expects Gore to play through the injury. "To me, he's gonna play. He's gonna play." Playing with injuries is encouraged in the NFL, but it's usually kept behind closed doors. Singletary is probably not going to last long as a head coach. tazinib1
Per rotoworld Frank Gore recanted his concussion statement, saying he feels fine and will be ready for Sunday's game against the Rams. Gore stated that he was woozy from his neck getting jammed on a hit, not from a concussion. He implied that he was still a bit dazed when he stumbled near the goal-line late in the game, and that's why he didn't make it into the end zone. Gore was not given a diagnostic test, but he's been told that he wasn't concussed. He expects to practice Friday and will be in the starting lineup Sunday.
