Goopster24
I feel like this moment has been coming for a while. Kolb is perfect on this drive right now. McNabb's writing on the wall?
Goopster24
And then he throws it RIGHT to Ed Reed. Took it to the house, 100+ yards. Wow.
RJV
I've said it for that past 2 years, TRADE HIM. Either him or Ried needs to go.
Doc Holliday
I've said it for that past 2 years, TRADE HIM. Either him or Ried needs to go. I don't think either needs to go. even if Kolb lit it up I think McNabb would of been back in next week. Reid just seen the offense was not moving and tried something else..you really cannot blame with how the offense was performing at the time. Goopster24
The play calling on the play where Kolb threw his last pick was somewhat mindboggling. Reid all too often gets cute on other teams.

Zooty
Kolb is another Bobby Hoying. Reid is letting McNabb take the blame for his failure as a coach this year. The Eagles franchise is done if they keep Reid and Kolb and let McNabb go.

whomper
Reid has accumulated a great record but has been making bonehead calls for many years now. Jim Johnson is one of the best coaches in football. Edited November 23, 2008 by whomper
Goopster24
Very frustrating I bet for Eagles fans. This team should be in contention no doubt.

They still had an outside shot till Reid decided to bench McNabb in the 2nd half. Just another bizarre move by the fatman.

This tandem is over for this city. Something need to be shaken up here. If you want to choose, keep McNabb for 2 more years, get rid of Reid and offer the HC job to Spagnolo. This only thing that has been getting bigger and better, is Andy's waist size. Edited November 23, 2008 by RJV

When he changes the offense for guys like Garcia the offense is much better. For the 1,000,000 time. They need to run the ball more.
FishFreak
McNabb has played awful the last six quarters but you don't bench a guy down 10-7 at halftime with the season on the line. This was a must win game to stay in the playoff hunt and Reid's decision seemed out of desperation. I would have stuck with McNabb the entire game to see what happens. Now if McNabb continued to play poorly then yeah bench him and bring in Kolb next week against the Cardinals. You just don't bring in a inexperienced guy on the road in a pressure game against a tough Baltimore D. That's just poor judgement and a difficult situation. Reid has clearly deteriorated as a coach as the years have gone on. He hasn't adjusted and continues to make poor decisions whether it's poor play calling or sticking to his pass happy offense. McNabb is not the reason why the Eagles are disappointing this year. The main reason is they have no run game. They suck on short yardage, have no power running game and don't commit to it to keep defenses honest. You can't win without balance in the NFL. You also can't pass your way to wins in the NFL with subpar WR's.

Reid is awful, his family issues are clearly a distraction and WHY, after all these years, dont the Eagles draft a big bruising back for god sake. Jacobs is a godsend for the Giants and to make matters worse, the Giants have depth in the position to rest him. Spagnolo should be offered the job but knowing the loyalty that Jaff has for Reid, I cant see that happening. So I'm guessing they are going to trade off McNabb. xMRogers
Pulling McNabb was absolutely stupid. Just no excuse in a 3 pt game to pull him when that game is so important. I'm somewhat beside myself (although do comfort it with my pretend World Series Trophy). And even stranger - at 5-5-1, the season isn't "over" as running the table gets them in, and possibly get in with one more loss. So now what??? ebartender
I think the problem started the day the Eagles drafted McNabb. McNabb is the exact opposite type of QB needed to run Reid's offense. McNabb's strengths were the deep ball and his ability to make plays with his legs. Reid's offense needed an accurate passer who could dink & dunk all day. On top of that, Reid has really never surrounded McNabb with much talent as far as playmakers go. They got TO and what happened? McNabb had a huge year. I feal sorry for Donovan. If he had a solid set of WRs or WR/TE during the last 10 years he may have been a much better QB (not saying that he has not been good but he could have been even better). I think the problem is Andy Reid and Andy Reid alone. He is not only the head coach but he also makes all of the personnel decisions. His play-calling and time management during the game have always been questionable. He has made many bad draft moves including trading out of the 1st round the last two years. Has he made a few nice picks? Sure he has (DeSean Jackson, Westbrook), but he has made some horrible picks too (Freddie Mitchell, Jerome McDougle). And it baffles me that a guy who would throw the ball 99% of the time if he thought he could wouldn't want top tier WRs or TEs on his team. I think Andy's stubbornness has hurt him. He really believes he can plug anyone into his system and it will work.

This has really gotten under my skin over the years. Reid's stubborn stance on just plugging any WR into his system has also cost the Eagles getting over the hump for many years. I remember when the Bucs manhandled their subpar WR's in the NFC Championship game. I just don't see after all these years how Reid could never get McNabb a big legitimate no.1 WR and a physical RB to balance the offense. It's just mind boggling. And just because TO became a cancer doesn't mean getting a big WR play maker wasn't worth it. After all, the team went to the SB and played a competitive game.
