Leinenkugel's Fireside Nut Brown

I pimped this beer in the 'microbrews' thread . . . I know Lienie's isn't really a microbrewery, but their seasonals are twice as good as anything in their price range, and frequently better than stuff that costs twice as much. I am LOVING the Fireside Nut Brown; it's outstanding football beer and a great pair with autumn/winter food (like turkey!).

ETA: I have a couple left out of a sixer of it in the fridge . . . well, better make that one!

Great point on the price. I picked up this 12-pack for $10.19.

A-B's Bourbon Cask Ale is a good one. I also like Black Dog's Winter Cheer.

Oh, and to pile on the Magic Hat love, I picked up a six of their Roxy Rolles Seasonal Hoppy Amber last night. I'm sad that this means the end of the Jinx Strong Autumnal Ale, but *whew* is it good. Magic Hat's stuff all hits right in my wheelhouse.

Enjoy it while you can, it is leaving the Milwaukee market mid-December.

I'm guessing it will last out a bit longer in other areas. Being replaced by Leinie's 1888 Bock.

I think I'll go pick up a few cases then. Wouldn't mind having it on hand until March or so.

I'm trying to remember how well Leinie's dark beers keep. Shouldn't be an issue.

My favorite beer is Newcastle, are they similar at all? I'll have to pick some up for the weekend.

I went to get the Fireside tonight and my closest beer store was out  Figured I'd try the Newcastle on your recommendation. I agree with Chavez, they are very similar. I think I like the Leinenkugel a little more (better aftertaste IMO). Still, the Newcastle is very good.
