theeohiostate
Broncos coach Mike Shanahan revealed late Sunday that Peyton Hillis is likely lost for the remainder of the regular season after badly straining his hamstring in Sunday's win over Kansas City."Normally it's about four, five six weeks," Shanahan said. "It doesn't look good right now." Denver is so starved at tailback that Hillis figures to be carried on the roster into the postseason, but he's almost surely done until mid-January. Selvin Young (groin) is uncertain to play in Week 15, but will probably rotate with Tatum Bell and P.J. Pope against Carolina if he's healthy. Expect Denver to use a pass-heavy offense the rest of the way.
kpholmes
"Expect Denver to use a pass-heavy offense the rest of the way."-- I'm glad they said that, it wasn't clear. Spencer Larsen, come on down! I like HIllis, so I'm bummed, but TBell did look pretty good in limited action today. Great news for Cutler and Marshall owners. Avernus
Great news for Cutler and Marshall owners. I think it's bad news because now there is pretty much no run game to show respect to...
darin3
I think it's bad news because now there is pretty much no run game to show respect to... I think Bell should be serviceable.... I mean, they were rollin' with a converted fullback with hardly any NFL experience and looked just fine. Maybe they'll pull Shaun Alexander out of a hat. kpholmes
I think it's bad news because now there is pretty much no run game to show respect to... I think it's bad news for REAL football, yes. For Fantasy Football though, Cutler throwing the ball 40 times a game is great news imo. Unless you're in a league that heavily penalizes INTs... I just noticed that the offense seems much more efficient when the ground game is averaging 4 ypc or more.... Hillis seemed like a hard runner who had ability.....Bell is not an every down back... Chargerz
I feel really bad for his parents who were in the stands for the first time since he had become the starter. Hillis helped get me into the playoffs in my local. Now it's back to the drawing board.
Cowboyz1
I posted this two week ago. Just to remind those of you who continue to believe in the Denver RB Mirage. Get Hillis out of your mind. He is an aberation, a figment of your imagination, he is a FB who caught 8 passes for 116 yards in ONE game. Then didn't touch the ball the next. Don't be fooled by Shannahan. I was again this year with Torain. He too was a figment of my imagination. I really thought that I had the starting running back for the run happy Denver Broncos. I was wrong again. As we all have been. AND IF YOU THINK YOU CAN PICK WHO THE RB IS GOING TO BE IN DENVER AND WHAT SHANAHAN IS GOING TO DO ON SUNDAY, YOU WILL BE WRONG TOO. Then again you may be right. Look let me spare you some pain. Go with Bradley or Avery. Just forget about Denver running backs. Try to imagine there are NO Denver RB's because when you get right down to it there really aren't any that will help you. Trust me. I haven fallen for the cheese many times myself and each time the trap takes a bit more of the skin off my lip.

Exactly what I'm thinking about as I move forward in my Dynasty league with Hillis on my team. Should I try to "trade high" with him this offseason? I've been stung by Shanahan's shenanigans to many times myself, but after all those times it would hurt even worse to let a player like Hillis go and then watch him become Denver's next Terrell Davis. Hillis was kicking ass and taking names, who could have seen him getting hurt? Shanahan gave him the rock, started him every game so it's not part of Shanahan's shenanigans. I sorta feel bad for Hillis since he may not get the opportunity again next year when everyone else is healthy though

Square
Oh right, the fake game. Whoa, whoa, whoa...you mean people are talking about the "fake" game here? Hmm....if only there was some place for them to talk about the fake game. A "board" or "forum" where people could get together and discuss that fake game could be useful. Cowboyz1
Sorry, that's just f'ing dumb. Hillis was the man, then got injured. How can you take some form of credit?! Dude, I only am saying that Denver RB are undependable period. When you need one they somehow disappear. That's all I'm saying.

Could you please inform all of us which RBs will get injured before it happens, rather than patting yourself on the back after it happens? Torain & Hillis were injury issues, no more and no less. Without those injuries occurring, we would have seen Torain at RB and Hillis at FB, and with the dynamics of the rest of this O, they would have been very successful. FishFreak
What the hell happened to Selvin Young??? Isn't he getting healthy? I would think he should be in line to get the carries ahead of Bell if he can go.
darin3
What the hell happened to Selvin Young??? Isn't he getting healthy? I would think he should be in line to get the carries ahead of Bell if he can go. Young is supposedly "close".... and was prior to Week 14, but was made inactive. With the thin RB situation, you gotta think this move indicates he's not as close as reported. He may have value in Weeks 16 and 17 (if 17 matters for you). But more than anything, he's fodder.
