Halfway through the 2nd games yesterday...

5 of the 10 teams in one of my league were still in contention for the last 2 play-off spots. Setting it up as top 3 records with the last spot going to high points really opened it up.

Going into this week, there was actually a 4 way tie for 2-5 with two teams with poor records but within a realistic distance of the guy sitting in 4th in terms of points. Of the guys tied for 2nd, one had basically locked up a spot by virtue of having way more points than anyone but me (I had clinched #1). So, even if he was the only one to lose among the four teams tied, he'd have enough points to leap-frog whomever was sitting in 4th with regards to records.

The guy who was in 4th, however, really needed to win, especially because, by half time of the late games, he'd given up his points lead to 2 of the 3 teams behind him and he was trailing in his game. TO and Cassel hooked him up with just enough to eek out a, frankly, pretty lame win. Mind you, he still has D Williams going tonight so he may put up respectable numbers after all.

Gotta love FF.

In my other league, it came down to it as well. Going into this week, 2 guys had clinched and it was between 3 of us for the final two spots. I was in with a win but could lose and still make it if the right things broke my way. None of those things broke my way but I took care of business.
