splotchman
Luckily last week I had a bye as Lynch stunk up the joint against the Fins. This week he plays the Jets in which he earned less than 20 yds on approx. 9 carries if my memory serves correct. Buffalo's QBs are in shambles, and I am STRONGLY considering benching him. Obviously it depends upon your options, but I'm just not sure I can trust him at this point of the season and think he's gonna stink up the joint this weekend against the NYJ's who are Top 5 against the run. Thoughts? Edited December 11, 2008 by splotchman
NYCDOG
I hear you. I've been wrestling with that all week. He has been a complete dud and I can afford another 30yd performance by him in the first round of the playoffs. I'm seriously thinking of benching him for LenDale White and starting Antonio Bryant in the flex, whereas before i started lendale in the flex. TDFFFreak
I think it obviously depends on each individual team's options beyond Lynch. I'm not in love with Lynch this week, but he's the primary guy in Buffalo who will get the majority of the carries. My fear is that the Bills will be playing from way behind and they'll decide they need to throw, but not enough to Lynch. The only real option I have on one team is to play Leon Washington instead of Lynch which isn't a crazy thought considering the 3rd down looks he gets in the passing game, but I have a feeling they are going to keep Lynch involved in the short passing game this week. Obviously you play guys like Forte, C. Johnson, and Thomas Jones over Lynch, but do you play J. Stewart, Leon Washington, and Hightower over Lynch? That is the question... I'd still take a chance with Lynch, but that's just me. Edited December 11, 2008 by TDFFFreak
NYCDOG
The thing that you have to think about is sustained drives. Buffalo with Losman at the helm and a crappy o-line can hardly not go 3 and out against a bad defense. The JEts have a great run defense and will stack the box on Lynch, who can barely get 4 yards a carry against soft defenses. The Jets on the other hand will run TJ and Leon all day to control the clock and keep Favre from having to throw the ball and kill them with turnovers. That all spells for a crappy day for Marshawn. I hate tinkering with my lineup as I generally believe you go with what got you there, but in all honesty, I think I won in spite of Lynch not because of him. I think Fred Jackson will steal A LOT of carries, especially on short passing plays. Jackson hasn't played in a while and will be fresh
peepinmofo
In Ladder I have Lynch, LT, and DeW as my usual starters, but I also have PT and I think I am rolling with him over Lynch this week. Every other league I have Lynch in Im going with him.
Square
I'm going against Lynch this week in my main money local (him and R. Bush actually) and I've been doing the Lynch poopy yardage no TD dance all week. I would play J. Stewart over him if you had that as an option. Luckily my opponent doesn't. BillyBalata
I'll be starting Lynch in two playoff games this week. Not much choice in one of them. The other I could start Jacobs, but not sure of his status at the moment and with his game being Sunday night, probably going to have to stick with Lynch. Granted Lynch has had some disappointing games this year. Add to that the Jets D has been fairly solid against the run this year so I'm not expecting a lot. Keep in mind though the first game against the Jets apparently Lynch was battling the flu and had to be taken out of the game several times. I'm hoping he tries to make up for that this game. If he can get 70 yds and sneak in a td I'll be thrilled.
detlef
If Barber is healthy, I'm not playing Lynch. I think I'm going to go 3-wide with Cal Johnson, Andre Johnson, Roddy White and roll T Jones and either M Barber or Lynch at the other back over M Moore, M Morris, and Kevin Smith. I'm tempted to run K Smith if Barber can't go just because Lynch has been such garbage of late but can't stomach having two Lions going.
