estevay
Okay the spread in the bears game was -3 Chi. They won by 3 so is a Bears pick a winner? I have a 4 game parlay. I took the bears and the over.
Big John
the game is a push. Get money back on a straight bet (no win or loss), but might be a loss on a parlay.
Double Agent
I think it turns into a 3 game parlay with a push. Been a while since I bet.

i_am_the_swammi
I think it turns into a 3 game parlay with a push. Been a while since I bet. Â Exactly. Â The Bears game pushes, so the other 3 games play (with you payout now based on a 3-team parlay).
Brentastic
Exactly. The Bears game pushes, so the other 3 games play (with you payout now based on a 3-team parlay). No, I don't think that's right. A push is a loss unless you're betting with a friend. If it's through a bookie or Vegas, it's a loss. DawgTalk
In a straight bet it would be a push, however in a Parlay, it is a loss....unless you are betting with some friend or personal bookie that will then turn it into a 3 team parlay or negate the entire parlay in general. xMRogers
Not true - depends on the book. Most books, inlcuding vegas, count a push as a tie/no play in a parlay. ie, I had the Bears and over (why I didn't buy the hook i don't know) last night - ended up with a win on the over alone. Â This is out of the Venetian wager guide: Â "In the event of a tie in any game, or total, the parlay is reduced to the next betting bracket. Thus, a four team parlay with one tie would simply become a three team parlay. Minimum parlay bets are $10.00."
Grits and Shins
Depends on the rules of the particular establishment/contest. Â In the Weekly Blitz a push is a loss.
i_am_the_swammi
A push is a loss unless you're betting with a friend. If it's through a bookie or Vegas, it's a loss.  Incorrect.  Most online books and Vegas treat it as a no-play.  Bodog's rules:  Sportsbook FAQ Parlay  Parlay Rules The following rules apply when you place a parlay:  You must select a minimum of two lines and a maximum of twelve to place a parlay. A tie reduces the number of wagers (teams) in the parlay. For example, a four-team parlay with two ties reduces to a two-team parlay and the payout is recalculated based on the reduced number of teams. A two-team parlay with one tie reduces to a straight bet. If a parlay reduces to zero teams, the bet will be graded "No Action" and your money will be refunded. With the exception of ties, all of the wagers must win for the parlay to be considered a win. If any one of the wagers loses, the entire parlay loses. There are no partial payouts. rattsass
I bet the Saints+3 and over parlay last night. So I got paid 1-1. If your book does it any differently you need to shop around.

Brentastic
I haven't played a parlay in about 5+ years but apparently the 'bookie' I used was doing the unconventional thing. A push was always a loss. In fact, I always thought that's how Vegas made their money. It was my understanding that the spread is created to get equal betting on both sides and the money is made from the juice and the push. I guess now I know. Pope Flick
As an aside - isn't it creepy how often Vegas can nail a game?
